It had been one hell of a long day. First a supply run, followed by a risky mission; they had to help a multiple of people and then escape the Empire as many of their TIE fighters ambushed them. Now that they had escaped and were safe, the crew were exhausted and could hear their beds calling for them. As soon as all of their heads hit their pillows, they were each out like a light - all except Ezra, Sabine and Ahsoka. The three met up outside of their cabins and snook off of the ship; they sat down in the field the Ghost had landed in and waited. The sky was lit up by the two moons and stars, but there was something else that helped provide some light - fireflies.
The three friends had made it a regular habbit of sneaking out of the ship at night and sit in a field in order to watch the little bugs fly around whilst they silently spoke. I guess you could say it was their brother and sisters time. Ezra would fall asleep nearly every single time after a hour of gazing at the beautiful fireflies; he was the quietest of the three whenever they did this as he always wanted to just watch the scene before him. Sabine and Ahsoka found it rather adorable, seeing their little brother fall asleep. When they asked, Ezra had explained that when he lived on the streets for all those years, he needed to find a pleasant way to fall asleep and looking at the glowing fireflies did the trick.
In fact, Ezra was the one who introduced the two girls to the late night meet ups after they had followed him sneaking out of the ship to stare at the fireflies; after that, it became a regular thing. Or at least it was whenever they were on the planet Lothal. Any who, somehow the teenage boy managed to stay up longer than usual. "Remember when Zeb got caught in the duck take last week??" Ahsoka asked as she laughed; her two friends joined in as they nodded "damn, that messed him up bad" Ezra chuckled "he just has strips of no fur". As the fireflies danced around the friends, they felt themselves become calm; it was as if the little bugs had the power to take all of their stresses and worries away - even for just a little while.
Ezra
Sabine
Ahsoka"You would not believe your eyes,
If ten million fireflies,
Lit up the world as I fell asleep,
'Cause they'd fill the open air,
And leave tear drops everywhere,
You'd think me rude,
But I would just stand and stare......I'd like to make myself believe,
That planet Lothal turns slowly,
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
'Cause everything is never as it seems......'Cause I'd get a thousand hugs,
From ten thousand lightning bugs,
As they tried to teach me how to dance,
A foxtrot above my head,
A sock hop beneath my bed,
The disco ball is just hanging by a thread......I'd like to make myself believe,
That planet Earth turns slowly,
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
'Cause everything is never as it seems,
When I fall asleep......Leave my door open just a crack,
Please take me away from here,
'Cause I feel like such an insomniac,
Please take me away from here,
Why do I tire of counting sheep,
Please take me away from here,
When I'm far too tired to fall asleep......To ten million fireflies,
I'm weird 'cause I hate goodbyes,
I got misty eyes as they said farewell,
But I'll know where several are,
If my dreams get real bizarre,
'Cause I saved a few and I keep them in a jar,
Jar, Jar, Jar......I'd like to make myself believe,
That planet Earth turns slowly,
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
'Cause everything is never as it seems,
When I fall asleep......I'd like to make myself believe,
That planet Earth turns slowly,
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
'Cause everything is never as it seems,
When I fall asleep......I'd like to make myself believe,
That planet Earth turns slowly,
It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I'm asleep,
Because my dreams are bursting at the seams".Once their song came to an end, the three siblings found themselves sitting closer together as they cuddles, watching the glowing bugs put on a beautiful show for them. And as predicted, Ezra was soon fast asleep with his head leaning against Ahsoka's shoulder, using it was a pillow. The two girls smiled as Sabine ran her fingers through his navy blue locks and kissed his forehead "good night Ez" they whispered.
