Tobias POV
I walk into a cold grey room. It's large but there's a cold grey cylinder in the middle. Some one almost seems to be whispering something.
"Don't come any closer, they'll hurt you, Tobias." They whisper over and over again.
Where did that come from? There's no one else in here is there. I snap round to see Eric smiling like a Cheshire Cat.
"What do you want." I growl. He shakes his head in a small laugh. He doesn't say anything and simply points to the cylinder.
"You have to kill whoever is in there."
I glare at him and shake my head.
"No"
He chuckles a deep laugh.
"You have too." With no choice I step forward. In the cylinder there's a small hole just enough to place one there. I kneel down and press an eye to the hole."Do it, Tobias, they'll hurt you." They whisper. They sit in the furthest corner of the cylinder. Their head on their knees. Silently shaking. Their shoulders quiver in the cool breeze.
"Why do I have to kill them, they're innocent." I whisper looking up to Eric. He laughs again.
"She's far from innocent." He sneers. I look back through the hole. It's a girl. Her small frame continues to shake.
"Who is it?" I say. All he does it grin. I stand up and grab him forcing him against the metal.
"Who is it!" I yell.
"You'll see." He whispers manically. I shove him out the way and look through the hole.
2 people have appeared in the cylinder out of nowhere. They walk towards the girl and yank her head up to face me.
"Tris?" I whisper. Her bruised eyes look into mine. "Tris!" I yell.
She says nothing, the only emotion shown on her face is terror. I spin round to see her being held by several people.
"No, I'm not doing it!" I yell tears falling from my eyes "say something, Tris!" She looks blankly at me. I hear a click behind my head. The tip of a gun is being held to my head. A hand places a revolver in my hand and forces me to click it.
"So the mighty Four has fallen." Eric says "gone soft?"No. No. No. No.No. No. No. No.No. No.
Large bruises cover her body. She doesn't even look like she can hold her own weight.
"Say something" I yell "fight back Tris!"
"Kill me, Tobias." Is all she says
"No, don't you dare say that!" I yell.
The tip of the gun pushes into my head. A hand grips my arm and forces it to go up. Don't you dare do this to yourself. Don't do this to Tris.
"Pull it" Eric whispers manically "do it."
Tears run down my cheeks as I shake my head. Tris looks at me now. Not with terror, but with insurance. With one look at her stormy eyes she tells me that I have too. Its me or her, and she wants to go.
I pull my head away from her and close my eyes. I look away as I pull the trigger. A loud bang rings in my ears. I killed you and it's all his fault. Then I hear another bang. This time it wasn't for Tris, it was mine.
I sit bolt up right. My bed covered in sweat. I pant, it was only a dream. Only a dream. She's still alive. How she is. I don't know. Where she is. I don't know. But she's alive and still beating. She's not dead and she never will be because I've realised some thing. I'm still in love. and not being able to tell her that kills me. The cruelty of me not being able to hold her hurts me. The guys are right. I was changed by her. I learnt to appreciate life more while being with her. Still in my heart I want to be with her. I'm different with out her. we stabilise each other and I miss her.
Tris POV
I rummage through my backpack and try to pick out something out my few clothes. I find some jeans and a grey hoodie. I run over to the tap and wash my face and brush my teeth. I look up to the cracked mirror which has been precariously placed on top of the tap. I sigh in relief. There are no bruises.
As there is nothing to do today, we have to go to school. And the gang is going to be there. Just my luck.
"Al!" I yell and he comes back inside. "Ready?" I ask and he cocks his head.
"Always." he says.
We walk along the streets. Al has a cigarette in his mouth. Smoke slowly draining out of his mouth. He drops it just as we walk around the corner and we see the high school. We go into the car park and suddenly I hear.
"TRIS!" a voice yells and I'm tackled to the ground. I turn onto my back and see a grinning Christina. She helps me up and pulls me into a bear hug.
"why didn't you come and speak to us when we were in the diner. Its been weeks since then." She says. The sad expression that was on her face is replaced quickly by a happy one. I'm pulled into another bear hug as the whole gang pile on top of me.
A small smile crosses my face. The first smile that I've had in months. I finally feel safe just in these first few minutes of seeing these guys. I've feel like I'm on cloud nine. But I know that if these guys get too close they will get hurt. If I even utter anything about my dad I know that I will get hurt and so will they. If they ever got hurt I don't think I could ever live with it. How could I? It would kill me. I would hate myself more then I do now.
Tobias stands at the back of them all with a slither of a smile cursing on his lips. I walk up to him.
"Hi" He says
"Hi" I say back
and we stand there. Smiling. For the first time in months
