Tobias

I walk down to Christina's house. The gangs all meeting at her house to try and cheer her up. It's been a few days since Will passed away and she's been a complete shut out. I can't even think about Tris right now. She couldn't of done this. Not in a million years would she of killed him. Shot him where he stood. That's just not her.

I knock on the door and Christina's brother answers.

"Hey Denny." I say

"Hi Tobias." He smiles "Christina's upstairs with the rest of them." He says, letting me step into the Black and White House.

"How is she?" I ask as he shuts the door behind me.

"I'm not sure. She hasn't come out of her room for the past few days. She hasn't even come out to eat." He replies, a sad expression crossing his face.

"thanks Denny." I say and bound up the stairs and into Christina's room. Marlene and Uriah are on her bed, Shauna and Zeke and sitting down leaning against the wall. Shauna lies her head in his lap and Zeke gently strokes her hair. Lynn is just lazing around but Chris leans up against her wardrobe with her knees drawn up to her chest. Her head rests on her  knees and she just sits there. Her hair a mess and her eyes are blotchy.

They all sit up when they see me come in. Zeke smiles at me. Christina barely looks up. Her brown eyes lock on mine. She doesn't say anything. She doesn't even nod. Her head slides back to her previous position.

"How are you?" I ask. She stares right ahead.

"Alone. Knowing that my best friend killed my boyfriend." She says and turns to look at me. "I'm wonderful. How are you?" She asks her voice dripping with sarcasm. "You know what's hardest of all. I feel empty and that's worst then depression or self hate. It's the worst thing I have ever felt, like your insides have been scraped out and the emptiness it like a hole that's growing bigger and eating you from the inside out." She stops and stares back at the floor. Almost looking away to make sure we don't see her cry.

"I'm great thanks for asking." I say. She sighs.

"I miss him." She says. "I hate her." She spits and I'm 100 percent sure that if there was a dart board with Tris' face on it, she would be throwing machetes right now.

"What if Tris didn't do it though?" Lynn asks. I look up and could almost hug Lynn.

"Lynn. Don't even go there. She was there. With the gun that killed Will."

"But what if she didn't shoot." She replies. "Think about it. Why would she kill one of her friends. Especially her best friend's boyfriend."

Christina glances at Lynn and then to me.

"Did you put her up to this?" She asks cocking her head to the side. I shake my head.

"No."

She turns back and looks at Lynn with an unsure look.

"Christina, Lynn has got a point. Why would we leave someone in there when they didn't do it. It's an injustice." She glares at me as I say this. As if to narrow her eyes on me. She's searching for something and I don't know what it is. "Her trial is next week and there's no way that she's getting out with out you backing her. No one's there to defend her, she's going to have to face that trial alone if we don't help." I plead with Christina. Almost begging her.

"No ones going to be there for her?" Shauna says, sitting up pulling away from Zeke. I shake my head and her eyes widen. She immediately turns to Christina. "We're going." She states simply.

"No. You guys can. I'm not." She snaps back.

"But she's innocent!" Marlene says.

"No. She's not!" Christina yells back. "She's not and we all know it!" Tears stream down her face in fierce torrents. She pulls herself into a tighter ball then she already was.

I feel my stomach drop. We need Christina to go to the trial. We need her to fight for Tris because there's no way in hell Tris is ever going to get out with out someone like Christina backing her. I know me and Tris haven't really seen eye to eye since she came. She just seemed so secretive. I'm going to visit her the day before her trial. I have to. Because whatever happens I'm still going to love. No matter what happens.

"Im going to see the day before the trial." I say and look down at the floor, I can feel all their eyes fall on to me. Especially Christina. "Your going to the trial right?" I ask. I hear a slight whimper from Christina meaning yes. "Tris was taken away from us. From me. She never gave us a definite reason and we may never know why but when she came back, she was a different person. She changed. She was tough and her walls were higher and they just seemed to grow as time went on. But if we don't save her now, we may never see her again. I may not always of seen eye to eye with her but I'm never going to stop loving her. She was lost. Heck! She still is lost and we need to find her before it's too late."

It's silent and I hear a quiet snivel from Uriah.

"I think that's the most beautiful thing I've ever heard." He cries and turns to cry into Marlene's shoulder.

Christina stares at me for a moment and finally nods. A large lump bobbing in her throat.

"I'll come."
