"...So that's the master plan." I finish, clasping my hands together, fully satisfied with my little pep-talk. Grinning from ear to ear, I turned around to look at Chase. "So, what do you think?" My eyes scanned his face which seemed to be...lost.
"Chase? Dude? What do you think about it?" I snap my fingers in front of him to gain his attention.
He studies me, making weird and creepy faces at me in the process — suggesting as though I had lost my mind.
"Um...Max, not to be rude or anything but don't you think planning revenge on your girlfriend and your best friend by working out a master plan is too creepy?" His eyes twitch at his own words — making me snort.
"Ex best friend and ex girlfriend, Chase. Don't forget that." I correct him.
"Hell no. She wasn't even supposed to be your girlfriend in the first place. How can you call her your ex girlfriend? She was all just for show. Why do you always forget that man?" He adds, taking a step in my direction.
"Don't you dare fuck this up for me. I'm keen on making them feel the way I felt that day. After Leah, that was the only day I wanted to kill Nash. Last time we two fought like that was," I close my eyes, "I dunno, four years ago."
"It wasn't his fault." He says.
"I know."
"And you still beat him up? Why?" Chase glares at me, cracking his knuckles.
"Because I was angry, okay? Also because he couldn't protect her." I shake my head and close my eyes, my mind drifting back to that incident.
"That's it? Because he couldn't save her? Well, suck a dick Max because you couldn't save her too. Even though you were her brother." Chase points a finger at me."But Leah was his responsibility—" I was cut ofoff by Chase knocking off his food tray on the floor.
Trust me, you do not want an angry Chase Zachary Staton. That's about the last thing anyone wants.
"Dude, don't bring that up again. Just don't. You always do that." Chase yells, making people turn their heads towards us.
"Do what?" I yell myself.
"You always bring your sister up whenever..like whenever you're in a problem, you always bring her up." He retorts, "It's not a bad thing but, whenever you go deep into a problem you think of her and then suddenly, you just run away from your problems."
"I have known you long enough to tell you that. I may haven't known you as long as Nash or even Aiden for the record but I do know this." Chase finishes and I feel like kicking him in the nuts.
However I didn't. I didn't because somehow what he said was true. Of course, I would rather choke on my own vomit than admit it.
Pushing him hard by the chest, I storm off into the corridors, thinking of a way to let out all my anger.
"Yeah, I'll do it Nash. Don't worry. Of course, I don't have anything to do except do your homework. Your homework, which you're supposed to be doing." I could already tell from a far distance that Aiden was high in sarcasm at the moment.
