"I'll never say never." I looked up at him, "What?" I questioned, looking oh so confused.

"I'll never say never." He repeated and a smile invaded my face. I balled my fists, "Yes! You can do this! Max you can so do this!" He picked up the pencil again and took the notebook from my hands.

"Imma solve this motherfūckinğ equation." He growled and scribbled down on the notebook. I pursed my lips together, he needs to solve this, otherwise all my hard work of teaching his for the past 4 hours will go in vain.

That's the last thing I want.

"There, done." He throws his hands in the air like he's won the lottery or something. "Hold it right there cowboy, lemme check it first." I take the notebook from him but he catches my hand and entwines our fingers.

"What's the hurry?" He smirks and with that, he dips back with me, still gripping his hand.

We land flat on our backs on his bed. We just remain like that for a few minutes. He was on top of me and I seeked comfort under his warm body. Kissing my cheek he puts his forhead next to mine.

"Sophia, thanks. For coming here."

"And...?" I tease.

He playfully rolls his eyes, "And thank you for preparing my lazy ass for the Math test tomorrow."

"It's okay boyfriend." I smirk and squirm under his body. He takes my wrists and tickles me once. "What did you say princess? I didn't quite catch it. Did your tongue just accepted the word you called me? Huh?"

"St-stop! Plea-please!" I laugh and so does he. Nobody would believe that this is the same guy who was cracking under Maths. And now he's laughing like a clown. That goofball.

"Where are even your parents?" I ask him.

He quirks an eyebrow at me, "They're not usually home." I all he says and starts tickling me again.

"Oh my God! Max stop! Please!"

"Not yet sunshine." He smirks.

"Pretty please? With cherries on top? And extra whipped cream? And chocolate chip sprinkles?" I pout at him.

"Okay, okay fine. I'll stop, only because that thing sounded darn delicious. But, did I even solve it correctly?" He pushes out his bottom lip like a three-year old, furrowing his eyebrows together.

"We'll see about that." I wink and take the notebook once again from his hands.

I see him pursing his lips together, screwing his eyes shut. "Hey, what's wrong? You solved it-"

"Jesus, it's not about that Sophia." He chuckles dryly, towering above me, he cups my cheek, "It's just what happened the other night. And..."

Memories flood back into my mind, that night when Max looked depressed as fućk. The night he looked as though he'd never make it out alive after such bruises and cuts. That night when I thought I had lost him forever.

"I won't push you. Okay? It's okay. The past is in the past, nothing to worry about." I place my hands on his cold ones on my cheek, twitching as his cold skin hits mine.
