((Just a heads up:there will probably be a few cuss words here and there now. This way you guys can understand the feelings of the characters better. Enjoy!))

Pixel refused to sleep that night. She couldn't bring herself to put her in the state of vulnerability now. She couldn't let herself enter into another nightmare. Not like...like last time. The memory flashed back.
"Mom! Run! Please!" she yelled. Pixel's mother smiled down at her. She gently kissed her forehead.
"Don't worry," she had reassured Pixel. "You'll see me again soon,". Pixel watched as her mother walked to the factor. A tear slipped down her cheek, knowing what was coming. The factor exploded. Debris shattered everywhere, but somehow missed Pixel.
"Mommy?" she whispered.
Pixel jolted up. She banged her leg in frustration.
"I fell asleep!" she whisper-yelled at herself. Pixel got up and walked over toward the horn. She peaked in reluctantly. Dill lay there, dark bags up under his eyes. He held his hand per Moccasin's body. His hands were glowing with a dim white aura. He continuously moved his hands up and down along her.
"Him..." Pixel corrected herself. "Scotty had said him,". Pixel walked back outside. She walked to the tree that the boy from eleven  had knocked over. She sat gently on it. She couldn't help it. Tears began rolling down her cheeks. "Moccasin..." she whispered. "Why did he have to die?"  Pixel sat in silence while she cried. There was a slight noise as someone sat down by her,but Pixel didn't care. She didn't care if it was one of her friends or not. A hand gently touched her shoulder. She assumed it was Dell or Atom. Pixel buried her face in the persons jacket. They were surprised at first, but then hugged back. With one hand they hugged Pixel and with the other they gently ran through her hair. "I thought Dill could save him," Pixel said. The person sighed. Pixel was surprised that it was a girl's sigh. She was even more surprised when they talked and Pixel realized who it was.
"I thought so too," Silver said quietly. "I did too..."  Silver's voice cracked and Pixel heard her begin to cry. Pixel stayed in Silver's arms, not caring that it was Silver. She didn't question why Silver had come to comfort her. Pixel was honestly just glad that someone had, even if it was Silver. Maybe they could finally become friends after this. Maybe. Pixel eventually calmed down and pushed away from Silver. She wiped the remaining tears away. "No more crying now, okay?" Silver said. "This is the Game of War after all,". Pixel nodded.
   "Yeah,okay. No more crying,".
"Good," Silver said. She then got up and walked away. Pixel sat on the tree and wondered why Silver had chosen to come and comfort her. She shrugged it off. This is the Game of War. They had to work together. Pixel got up off the tree and walked into the forest.
"You're not supposed to be alone," Atom said from his spot propped on a tree. Pixel automatically drew her weapons, but lowered them once she saw it was just Atom.
"Don't scare me like that!" Pixel said, putting her weapons away. Atom chuckled and his hair glowed a little bit brighter from under his hood.
"You really shouldn't be alone though. It's dangerous out here," Atom said, serious again. Pixel walked past him. Atom quickly caught up to her and walked beside Pixel.
"I don't care if it's dangerous," Pixel said. "I'm going to explore something,". The two walked in silence for a while. "Stay alert," Pixel whispered after what seemed like hours of walking. Atom nodded. Pixel ease her way toward where she knew the barrier was. She ran over to it, grabbed a stick, jammed t into the wall, and ran away. She grabbed Atom's hand with her free one, pulling him with her. There was the sound of fire behind them. Atom looked back and let out a scream.
"That's a wall of fire!" he yelled over the roar of the flames.
"I know!" Pixel shouted back. Pixel could feel the blood rushing through her body. She could hear her heartbeat pounding in her chest. But she had to try this. If her theory was correct, then this could very well save Moccasin. The two continued running. They didn't stop until they burst into the clearing with the cornucopia. Pixel let go of Atom's hand and took a moment to catch her breath.
"What the hell was that!?"  Atom exclaimed. Pixel ignored him and looked down at the branch. The small apple was defiantly made by the Capitol. She had seen it in the forest back home once or twice. They were to enhance a person's abilities. Pixel had never tried it,but she had learned everything she could about it. If what she new about the barrier was true, then the electric shock from it should've charged it just enough for it to work. Pixel walked towards the horn. She peaked in. She was relieved to see that Dill was still awake and working on Moccasin. She walked inside quietly.
"Here," Pixel said. "I found this for you. I think it can help,". Dill looked up,not daring to move his hands away from Moccasin. His face was stained with tear streaks. The bags under his eyes were even more visible. He looked like he was about to pass out. Dill looked at the enhance apple. A small, hopeful smile spread onto his face.
"Is..that?" Dill asked, his voice cracking. Pixel nodded. Dill looked down at Moccasin. The smile disappeared. "I.." he started.
"I know you can do it," Pixel interrupted. She took the apple off the branch and held it out for Dill. Dill opened up his mouth and Pixel carefully fed it to him. Dill swallowed after a moment. He kept his eyes closed. A smile slowly crept onto his face.
"Thank you Pixel," he said. He opened his eyes and went back to work on Moccasin. His aura around his hands became brighter. Pixel smiled. She walked out of the corn.
"What was that?" Atom asked again.
"I had to get the enhance apple. I gave it to Dill. He can save him now," Pixel explained. It took Atom a moment, then his eyes widened.
"Moccasin will...be okay?" he asked. Pixel nodded. Atom smiled as a single tear rolled down his cheek. Pixel led Atom into the front of the horn. She grabbed one of the blankets from a barrel. She gently laid it over him.
"Now come on," she said. "You need some rest. I'm going to round up the others,". Atom nodded as his eyes closed. He was soon sleeping, the smile still bright on his face. Pixel walked outside of the horn. She pulled up her hood as fresh snow began to fall. She looked up through the clouds. It was about midnight,it seemed. Pixel walked around. She saw Silver and Karambit heading toward the horn. Dell was soaring up high. Probably checking for any tributes before he laid down for the night. Now the only one that was missing was Aria. Pixel looked around the area but couldn't seem to find her. She began to get worried. Pixel climbed up a tree and looked around. She sighed in relief as she spotted Aria in a tree not to far away. Pixel carefully made her way over to Aria.
"Hey Pixel," she said as Pixel landed by her.
"Hey," Pixel said. "How'd you hear me?" she asked. Aria tapped her ear.
"Special hearing," she said. Pixel nodded.
"So..." she said. "How you doing?"  Aria sighed.
"I don't know," she admitted. "I had faith in Dill that he could save her. I guess...it was just to late,". Pixel smiled softly and looked down at the her dangling feet.
"I found,an enhancing apple," Pixel said. Aria looked up at Pixel in shock. "It was by the barrier. I had planned to go alone, but Atom had tagged along. We're both fine. I slammed it into the barrier and rushed back here. I gave it to Dill,". Pixel paused. "I think he can do it," she said. "Now at least,". Aria looked over toward the horn.
   "Dill," she whispered. Pixel smiled.
"Come on," Pixel said. "Let's get down and go to sleep,". Aria nodded. The two got down and went into the horn. Most of the others were asleep. Dell was sleeping next to Silver. Silver was near the entrance, ready for anyone stupid enough to come near them. Karambit was sleeping near Dill, who was still hard at work. Scotty had fallen asleep by Moccasin, his hand holding Moccasin's. Aria walked over to Dill and quickly fell asleep by Karambit, her head propped on Karambit's shoulder. Pixel smiled and walked over to Atom. He was fast asleep and still smiling. Pixel sat down by him and put some of his cover over her. The second she was comfortable Atom's head fell onto her shoulder. Pixel smiled down at Atom and laid her head on top of his. It wasn't long before she drifted off to sleep.
"Pix," Atom's voice called. "Pixel wake up,". His voice was cracking with what sounded like joy. Pixel opened her eyes. Atom's cheeks were tear streaked.
"Atom? What's wrong?" she asked, still a bit sleepy. Atom pointed to something with a shaky finger. Pixel turned. Pixel stared at the sight. She raised a hand to cover her mouth as a tear slipped down her cheek. Dill was fast asleep by Moccasin, who was being held by Scotty in a hug. He still didn't have her shirt on,but he was rapped in a blanket. The gaping hole that had been in his chest was completely gone. "Moccasin.." Pixel whispered. Moccasin stirred. Her eyes slowly opened. The bright purple shown back. Moccasin smiled tiredly and waved at Pixel. She then went back to sleep. Pixel turned to Atom as a tear rolled down her cheek. "He's alive," she said. Atom wrapped Pixel in a hug. "I can't believe it," she whispered. "He's alive,".
