Louis' custody battle

Louis Tomlinson is asking for privacy and respect for himself and his son, Freddie as he begins a custody battle with Freddie's mother Briana Jungwirth.

He wants his son to "have a normal, private and protected childhood," says a rep in a statement made by PEOPLE. He feels that this is greatly uncomfortable by paparazzi photographing the 5-month-old.

Louis' rep says that "the levels of paparazzi attention on Freddie" pose security issues and are "intolerable and completely unjustifiable."

The attention, the rep explains, is breaching on Louis' appearance time with his son, as well as the baby's day-to-day life, including doctor's visits.

"Louis appreciates, respects and values his relationship with the media and we hope he and his son are afforded the same respect on this matter," Louis' spokesperson says.

The request comes just days after Louis filed for shared custody of Freddie in court. Louis is asking for 50/50 physical and legal custody between him and his ex Jungwirth.

A source close to the singer previously told PEOPLE that Louis took legal action after visits with his son became increasingly erratic.

An insider close to Brianna added that the stylist and Louis' temporary arrangement was complicated when he began dating actress Danielle Campbell.

"When Louis started dating Danielle, Briana was upset and that's when the drama started," the source said.

P.O: so I dont even know if these rumours and reports are true.... If they are true then I think Louis should definitly have a right to see his son! Wouldnt you want to? And if these reports are false people need to stop giving Briana grief. But the thing is with these reports you never know what is happening, if it is true or false?
