Just Go With It Chapter 8

Jayden’s POV

“Because you’re an alpha’s mate”, mother announced. How could Raven be an alpha’s mate she was my mate.

“What?” Erick and I both said.

“Jayden, you’re adopted”, she said and I pushed Erick off me.

“Explain”, I said seriously.

“Remember the Midnight pack the one we wiped out when you were born”, she said unsure.

“The one that tried to kill you to hurt dad”, Erick said standing up too.

“What about them?” I asked.

“The alpha female gave birth to a son and we knew the pack would never be vanquished so we went there at night and fought the pack and I found a baby boy left alone in a tent so I took him home”, she explained.

“What does this have to do with me?” I demanded.

“You were the baby Jayden”, she said looking me in the eye.

“I’m the alpha of the Midnight pack”, I said shocked.

“We knew some of the wolves escaped and we knew they’d be looking for you we didn’t want that life for you”, she said.

“You took me away from my family”, I said looking at her.

“Jayden I’m so sorry we were just trying to protect you from those people”, she said tears in her eyes.

“You killed my family”, I realized.

“Honey I’m so sorry”, she said coming over.

“Stay the hell away from me”, I said then ran out the door and switched into wolf mode. I ran and ran not stopping for a second to think about things. Suddenly a pure white wolf stopped right in front of me.

What do you think you’re going? She demanded and I realized it was Raven.

I’m going home to find my pack, I thought soberly.

Your pack is here Jayden, she thought.

Weren’t you listening, those monsters killed my pack and my family, I growled.

Jayden have you forgotten all the legends about the Midnight pack all the wrecks of camps they left, she thought showing me images I’d never seen before.

It’s lies my family could never have done that, I thought seriously.

Jayden your family is here those people may be your biological family but they left you in that tent alone you would have died if Gabriella hadn’t come to save you, she thought.

Get out of my head you don’t know what you’re talking about, I snapped.

They kill people Jay they don’t fee, the same way we do, she tried to explain.

You mean they don’t cheat on their mates and make drama every second day, I thought angrily.

Fine if you’re not going to stay for the family that loves you then just stay because of the people that cared about you your friends, the girls, me do you care about any of that, she thought temper rising.

None of it is real, I thought.

I’m real, she insisted, I’m not a part of your fake family I’m your real mate don’t you even care anymore.

I’m sorry Raven but I have to do this, I thought shaking my head.

NO, she thought angrily, you don’t you are though but before you go you have to go through me.

Rave I don’t want to hurt you, I thought.

You’re already hurting me so take your best shot, she growled. I tried to get past her but she got in my way again.

Rave, I thought, just move.

If you’re going to go kill me first, she thought sadly.

I’m sorry Raven, I thought then knocked her over and kicked her in the head, goodbye. I licked her on the cheek then took off running I had to find my pack.

Raven’s POV

I woke up slowly my head was aching from the hit I took last night. Wait Jayden I couldn’t stop him he’d left me alone. I felt the tears start to fall and I let them fall down my cheeks. Jayden was gone and he wasn’t coming back. “Jayden, Raven”, someone called. I felt like I was going to die someone kill me already. He was too far away for our mind link to work I couldn’t even heard his mental voice anymore.

“Raven”, a new voice said.

“What?” I asked looking up to Erick sitting beside me.

“Where’s Jayden?” he asked wrapping a blanket around me.

“Jayden went off to find his pack”, I said wiping away the tears.

“Oh god Raven I’m sorry”, he said apologetically.

“He’s never coming back”, I said feeling the sobs coming. I expected him to be an asshole but he just wrapped his arms around me and let me cry into his shoulder.

“I’m so sorry Raven”, he said hugging me.

“Why did he have to go?” I cried.

“He’ll be back he’s not a complete idiot”, he assured me.

“Yes he is”, I laughed without humor.

“Well that’s probably true but he’s coming back soon”, he said massaging my back.

“Are you sure?” I asked pulling away.

“I’m positive”, he said looking me in the eye.

“Well then I best clean myself up before he gets back”, I said standing up then almost fell over again.

“Whoa”, he said picking me up, “you should relax for awhile.

“Good point”, I said putting my head on his chest.

“I tend to have those once in awhile”, he said.

“Who knew”, I said amused.

“Hey that’s mean I save you from the bushes and all”, he replied.

“Thank you”, I said then closed my eyes.
