Just Go With It Chapter 14

Raven’s POV

We got back to town and no one knew what to say me so they just opened the door and let me go up to Jayden’s room with Skyler. I opened the door and saw him sitting on the bed and he looked up and saw me. “What are you doing here?” I said wiping away tears.

“Do you really hate me?” he said standing up.

“No”, I said honestly, “I want to, but I can’t where is your pack? I didn’t see any wolves outside”.

“I left the pack”, he said walking over.

“Why?” I asked letting Skyler go downstairs and I closed and locked the door.

“It took losing you to realize that I don’t want to be away from you again not for a year, a day, an hour, a minute hell not even a second”, he said looking into my eyes.

“Kevin I don’t want to play this game”, I said shaking my head.

“Rave you know me better than anyone am I telling you the truth when I say that you were right that day”, he said touching my cheek, “you’re real and you never lied to me”.

“You’re actually telling the truth”, she said looking into my eyes, “but what about all that stuff at the palace?”

“That was me being an idiot”, he said shaking his head.

“You really hurt me Kevin”, I said brushing away more tears.

“I’m so sorry Rave”, he said falling to his knees in front of me. I jumped back a little in surprise and then saw that he was crying too.

“Kevin don’t”, I said trying not to look at him, “just stand up and leave”.

“Raven please”, he said grabbing my leg, “you don’t ever have to speak to me again after this I promise just hear me out please”.

“I can’t”, I said fighting more tears.

“Please”, he begged.

“Jayden I don’t think you get that…” I said then I realized I’d called him Jayden. Only Jayden begged grabbing my leg he really was still in there underneath the façade.

“Please”, he said looking up into my eyes.

“Fine”, I said sitting down on the bed, “speak your piece”.

“I know everything I did and I know I was a complete asshole to you and have been ever since I found out I was adopted”, he said sitting down next to me on the bed.

“I hope you’re not looking for an argument”, I replied.

“No I don’t want to argue anymore”, he said shaking his head, “I know what I’ve done and I’m truly sorry for everything”.

“Go on”, I said.

“I thought I had to make my real parents proud and take over the pack”, he explained.

“Okay”, I agreed.

“I didn’t realize until earlier that you were right none of my pack tried to protect me when Gabriella and Neill took me”, he said thoughtfully.

“Alright what is the point?” I asked.

“They really are my parents not by blood but they took care of me better than I could ever take care of myself and without everyone here life wasn’t worth living”, he explained.

“Are you saying you want to come back?” I asked looking up again.

“I want it back”, he said looking at me.

“What is it?” I asked curiously.

“Everything the pack, my family, my friends, you”, he said touching my hand and I felt the sparks.

“You can’t just have everything back that easily”, I said shaking my head.

“I know”, he nodded.

“You have to work for what you have”, I said seriously, “it doesn’t matter what your title is you’re still just a werewolf, not god”.

“I know this I just want to have a second chance”, he said looking at the floor.

“For how long before you get sick of us and leave again”, I said standing up.

“I don’t want to leave again”, he said.

“Now”, I said started to pace.

“I’m serious about this Raven”, he said taking my hand, “my heart just started beating again when I saw you walk in”.

“Use all the clichés you want but you hurt me and Skyler and I can’t take anymore heartbreak”, I said slipping my hand out of his.

“Rave please just give me one more chance I promise I’ll never hurt anyone ever again I’ll be the male version of a nun from this day forward just please don’t walk away from us”, he said getting down on his knees again.

“Jay please don’t”, I said.

“Please Rave just give me a yes or no and I swear I’ll leave you and I won’t hurt anyone on my way out”, he begged.

“I don’t know why can’t things ever be simple?” I said going over to the window.

“It’s just a simple yes or no do you still love me?” he asked hopefully. I looked at my feet and put my hands against my head fighting back tears.

“I can’t I’m sorry I just can’t do it anymore”, I said shaking my head.

“I understand”, he said sadly.

“Sorry”, I said standing up.

“It’s not your fault it was the long shot anyways”, he said then stopped at the door.

“What?” I asked confused.

“I guess I just figure out how you were wrong on that day”, he said thoughtfully.

“Wrong?” I asked surprised.

“Everything here was real and I missed it up on a whim”, he said then walked out and everyone rushed off in different directions.

“Bye daddy”, Skyler said hugging his leg.

“Bye kiddo”, he said then nodded to me and left.

“Mommy, where is dad going?” Skyler said looking at me with those same eyes. I did still love him damn it.

“He’s not going anywhere”, I said then ran downstairs and out the door I had to catch him before he got to his car. “Wait”, I called and he turned around.

“What?” he said confused.

“Did you mean what you said?” I asked catching up with him, “about everything being real and not wanting to hurt anyone”.

“Yes”, he said walking back over.

“Do you promise?” I said and he smiled widely and ran over. I meet him in the middle and we kissed and it was like the last year of hell never happened. I had my mate back.

“But what happens now?” he asked.

I don’t know after awhile you learn to just go with it”, I laughed.
