Just Go With It Chapter 13

Raven’s POV

I woke up to the sound of a small voice in my ear. “Mommy”, he whispered. I opened my eyes to see Skyler sitting on the edge of the bed.

“Hey sweetheart”, I said hugging him, “how is your nurse?”

“She’s mean she yells at me all the time”, he said holding onto me for dear life.

“Sorry honey”, I said holding him close.

“Don’t make me go back”, he begged.

“Shh it’s okay mommy’s here”, I said kissing him all over until he laughed.

“What is he doing in here?” Jay/Kevin said looking over at him, “NURSE”.

“I’m sorry sir”, she said running in, “young man you better not run away again I mean it”.

“And if you touch my son again I’ll rip your head off personally”, I said coldly.

“Come on Rave just let him go”, Kevin said kissing his cheek.

“O…” I said then realized what I was about to say, “I have to go”.

“What?” he said as I stood up and put my clothes back on.

“You heard me”, I said grabbing Sky and headed out the door.

“Yeah I did but you’ll have to elaborate”, he said following me as I walked down the hall.

“I’ve been such an idiot trying to make you someone that doesn’t exist anymore”, I said getting outside.

“What?” he said hurrying, trying to catch up with me.

“I don’t want to talk to Kevin anymore”, I said walking across the bridge.

“What’s that supposed to mean?” he said seriously.

“I want to talk to Jayden”, I said entering the forest.

“He’s not real Rave”, he said trying to touch my hand.

“Well you better make him exist fast or else”, I said turning around.

“Or what?” he said smugly, “what can you do?”

“If you aren’t Jayden anymore you’re going to lose me forever”, I said.

Jay’s POV

“If you aren’t Jayden anymore you’re going to lose me forever”, she said and my heart plummeted toward oblivion. I couldn’t lose Raven she was too important but I also couldn’t give up my new life. I couldn’t go back to being second best forever. I was a leader here there I was just another guy.

“You won’t”, I said shaking my head.

“I don’t even know who you are”, she said taking another step back.

“I’m your mate and the alpha of the most powerful pack in the world”, I reminded her, “that mark on your shoulder proves it”.

“I can’t be one of your women”, she said taking another step back.

“Why not?” I questioned.

“Because I’m still in love with Jayden and I can’t stand the sight of you the way you are Kevin”, she said taking two steps back and I started to feel a pain in a place I hadn’t touched in a long time.

“You can’t just leave”, I said.

“I will”, she said looking into my eyes.

“We’ll help”, Erick said appearing by her side followed by her pack.

“You’re picking him over me”, I said shocked.

“Yes”, she said with tears in her eyes.

“You can’t”, I said looking at her, “don’t leave”.

“Congratulations Kevin you’ve created your own worst nightmare”, she said then walked away and the pain in my chest increased with every step she took.

“Goodbye”, Erick said then followed her. I heard the cars leave before I past out on the ground. When I woke up Darla was sitting next to me.

“Hey big boy”, she smiled coyly; “fancy a quick session to cheer you up”.

“Where is Raven?” I said sitting up.

“She left with her pack”, she said then tried to climb on top of me but I pushed her away.

“She’s not coming back”, I realized.

“Who cares come on let’s roll”, she said trying to kiss me.

“She thought I didn’t care”, I said pushing her away again and stood up.

“Whatever, come on back to bed handsome”, she smiled.

“I can’t”, I said putting on my shirt and some pants.

“Yes you can just slip in”, she said trying to seduce me but I was already packing a bag and pocketing my wallet.

“No”, I said hoisting my bag over my shoulder.

“Come on pretty please”, she said trying to pull off my shirt.

“I said no tell everyone to go back to their old packs and leave well enough alone”, I said running out of the room and all the way down to the garage grabbed my car and left heading back home remembering our last conversation.

What do you think you’re going? She demanded and I realized it was Raven.

I’m going home to find my pack, I thought soberly.

Your pack is here Jayden, she thought.

Weren’t you listening, those monsters killed my pack and my family, I growled.

Jayden have you forgotten all the legends about the Midnight pack all the wrecks of camps they left, she thought showing me images I’d never seen before.

It’s lies my family could never have done that, I thought seriously.

Jayden your family is here those people may be your biological family but they left you in that tent alone you would have died if Gabriella hadn’t come to save you, she thought.

Get out of my head you don’t know what you’re talking about, I snapped.

They kill people Jay they don’t fee, the same way we do, she tried to explain.

You mean they don’t cheat on their mates and make drama every second day, I thought angrily.

Fine if you’re not going to stay for the family that loves you then just stay because of the people that cared about you your friends, the girls, me do you care about any of that, she thought temper rising.

None of it is real, I thought.

I’m real, she insisted, I’m not a part of your fake family I’m your real mate don’t you even care anymore.

I’m sorry Raven but I have to do this, I thought shaking my head.

NO, she thought angrily, you don’t you are though but before you go you have to go through me.

Rave I don’t want to hurt you, I thought.

You’re already hurting me so take your best shot, she growled. I tried to get past her but she got in my way again.

Rave, I thought, just move.

If you’re going to go kill me first, she thought sadly.

She had loved me back then and I was such an idiot I never realized what I had and now I might never see my mate again. “No”, I told myself, “I’m going to find her no matter what”.
