After hours of sitting alone in the dark, shivering, aching, coughing, and vomiting, the morning lights turned on.
They stung my eyes, and I felt myself almost hiss like a vampire. I shielded my face long enough for my eyes to adjust.
When I was brave enough to look, I saw my brother standing in the doorway.
He glanced proudly at our barf corner and back to the two of us, huddled helplessly in the opposite corner, cringing from the light.
“Phase four.” Was all he said before evilly grinning, and closing the door behind him, leaving us to ourselves once more.
