"I'm king of the world!" Calum yelled slurring most of his words

"Calum you're standing in a puddle. The closest thing to an iceberg out here is a car" Ashton laughed

"You know you wanna be my Rose ashy." Calum giggled

"I've never seen someone so drunk." He shook his head.

I had decided on only drinking a little. I didn't want to embarrass myself and my mother has a nose like a wolf she'd smell it of me before I even walk in the front door. Calum on the other hand had gotten so wasted he could barely stand on both feet. I could tell he had been stressed. Everyone in his year is have huge important life changing exams coming up in the next few weeks. Both him, Cameron, Michael and Alec had been knee deep in revision. I guess this was the first time in a while he was able to relax.

"I guess we should get you home." Ashton suggested trying to hold Calum up

"Yeah that's probably best" Luke interjected "maybe we should take the bus considering this guy can barely stand up on both legs."

We all agreed and headed off towards the nearest bus stop.

"So why aren't you completely wasted?" I asked Luke who had drank at least double the amount of myself.

"Dunno. Guess I'm just not a lightweight."

My expression was blank. I don't know what answer I expected but I didn't have a reply.

"Why did you barely drink anything?" He questioned

"Em there's some family stuff and my mom becomes really overprotective lately. I guess she feels really responsible for what's going on and she thinks I'm going to act out or something. I don't want her to think I'm being a bratty biter teen that says she hates her parents every time life doesn't go her way and she'll think she's a shitty parent." I totally over shared. I have no clue why. Maybe it was because I had seen a different side of Luke that I had never met before, one I could trust. Maybe it was because I needed to talk to someone that wasn't in my family about it or hear Caitlin tell me for the millionth time how much it sucked.

"Hey I get it. When my brother went off to college they got really over protective. They were on my back about anything and everything. Maybe it's just a thing parents do when they feel like they've screwed up and they resort back to the whole 'this is my baby I must protect them' phase. Whatever the reason you'll get through it. Yah know the saying 'Tough times don't last, tough people do." He shot me a comforting smile

"You're more intelligible than you let on." I told him

"Not really I kinda just copy things I hear from the TV." He chuckled

I shoved him playfully before we both stopped at the bus shelter along with Ashton and Cal.

"There should be a bus here in 5 minutes." Ashton informed us as we took a seat on the kirb. The street was completely empty as it was reaching midnight and the sky was a jet black.

"Wait we forget to tell Keira our band name!" Calum jumped up and down like a kid on Christmas.

I widened my eyes signifying for him to tell me.

"Drumroll please." The highly intoxicated boy requested

We hit our hands off our knees before he moved his arms to signal a stop.

"The backstreet boys!" He yelled

"Pretty sure someone else has already copyrighted that." I shook my head as we burst out in a fit of laughter. A puzzled Calum stumbled about the place before finding a place to throw up. Lovely.

"So what did you guys actually name your selfs?" I asked hoping for the real answer

"5 Seconds of Summer" Ashton grinned.

"I like it. It fits you guys." I lied. I loved it. They sounded like a real band.

"Really?" Luke beamed.

"Yeah. I need to hear you guys pronto dente."

"We're practicing this weekend at Luke's. You should pop in for a bit." Ashton invited

"I think I might do." I nodded.

"Tonight was fun. You should come out again with us." Luke smiled

"Yeah we should." I smiled back at him as the old run down bus arrived. We all got in and found seats while Ashton rubbed Calum's back so he wouldn't throw up again.

Once we reached my stop they all waved goodbye and told me to text at Calum, as I only had his number, when I got home.

As I quietly entered my house noticing all the lights were off, I creeped slowly to my room passing my dad on the living room couch and sighing softly. What had Luke said: 'Tough times don't last, tough people do.' I had a feeling that quote was gonna get me through a lot.
