Once the movie had ended everyone piled out of the cinema and heading to the exit only stopping to throw their rubbish into bins. I was so glad to finally catch some fresh air and admire the purple night sky dotted with stars. This colour of the sky was so beautiful and the way the colours danced together was spectacular. I was so in love with glistening of the breathtaking stars and the warm air around me. It was peaceful.

"Hey my mom is gonna pick me up. Want a lift?" Caitlin offered

"It's fine. Cam is coming to get me." I lied. Car journeys with Caitlin and her mother were the single scariest thing I had ever experienced. Half due to the fact her mother couldn't drive and the other half due to Caitlin being obsessed with Jacob Saggytits' song 'Sweatpants' or 'Sweat Stains' I think it was called. I personally didn't enjoy listening to the auto tune birthed by a robot that was his voice.

"You sure?" She didn't seem convinced.

"Yah. She'll be here in 20." I looked at my phone to 'check' the time before giving her my fictional answer.

"Alright. Well that's my mom now. Text me when you get home." She coaxed.

"I will." I assured her. It has been a pack we made since we were allowed out past 8. It was just to make sure we both were safe. It was made during winter when it got dark early and I was sure I was being followed home after a day out. When I phoned Caitlin she immediately met me with her brother Michael and they walked me home. It was our thing.

As Caitlin's mom pulled up she shot me a quick smile and a small wave. I mouthed 'Hiya' to her and half smiled. Caitlin hugged me goodbye and as she climbed into her car a voice started yelling from behind me, she immediately rolled her eyes and I spun on my heal to see who it was.

"Moooooom! Wait?!" Michael was waving his arms to stop his mother from driving away.

"Evening m'lady." He bowed at me

"Evening M' Clifford." I joked

"Ah I get it. M for Michael and then you said-"

I cut him off "yeah, yeah" I giggled thankful for my friendship with him. He had always been like a big brother. He had known me before I was even born, his mother and mine had been friends since college. My mom was both Caitlin and Michael's emergency contact and their mom mine.

"I need money." He screeched running to the car window. His mother sighed and they both got into a small squabble about how much he was asking for.

I stood with my arms crossed laughing at the situation when I felt someone's breath on my neck.

"Hey oh." Luke squealed.

I turned back around to greet the smiling boy who was currently a tomato red.

"Are you alright?" I questioned slightly worried.

"I may or may not have just chocked on a pretzel." He wheezed. I couldn't help but giggle. Karma certainly was a bitch.

"How do you even manage that?" I shook my head.

"Well when your best friend is a jackass" Luke motioned to Ashton who simply shrugged his shoulders "and decides to slide tackle you while you're eating, things get complicated."

"Ah so it wasn't your inability to eat food that caused the problem then?" I asked perplexed.

"Not today, my girl, not today." He winked

"If I roll my eyes one more time at you I might loose them."

"We wouldn't want that now. How would you be able to admire me then?"

"Ill do what I always do when looking at you. Close my eyes. Count to three and wish for the monster to disappear." I replied intoned .

The same laugh from earlier exited his mouth causing a small smile to creep onto my face. It was something so special it made me wonder how many people had had the luck of hearing it?

Michael appeared with a frown on his face.
"Looks like I'm not getting any money cause I have one or two-"

His mother yelled through her open car window "Try twenty."

"Or twenty un payed parking tickets." He huffed

"It's alright mate. We'll see you tomorrow, okay?" Luke placed his hand on his friends shoulder.

"Yeah, suppose so." The sad boy beamed as he said goodbye to his friends.

Luke, Ashton, Cal and I waved goodbye to the Clifford's as they all drove off.

"So what are you up to?" Cal asked me.

"I'm about to negotiate a pick up from my sister." I grunted knowing full well she was far too busy studying to pick me up.

"Why didn't you just go back with Caitlin?" Luke questioned.

"One day you'll be in that car and only that day will you understand. I'd like to stay alive for a bit longer." I informed him.

"How about you stay out with us and we'll walk you home?" Ashton offered.

"Are you sure. I'm kinda boring?" I was hesitant. Spend a couple of hours with a dickweeb, his best friend and Cal pal, it seemed strange.

"Keira in all the years I've know you I can let you know you're the furthest thing from boring."  Luke snorted.

"You barely even know me Luke." I seethed

"Yeah but I listen to you. I've heard you tell stories and I've heard you tell jokes and trust me you're not boring." He smiled.

"Alright then. Where are we off to?"

"A bar!" Ashton exclaimed.

A bar?¿
