I had never heard Calum or Michael play before. I knew they did but I had yet to hear it. From the first strum of Michaels guitar and Calum's bass I was mesmerised by their talent. I wished they hadn't made me wait so long to hear it but I was glad they finally decided to share their music.

Calum played the song he had mentioned the other night and listening to the lyrics I was 95% sure i knew who it was about, I wasn't going to tell her though. Michael sung a song about how broke he was but was due to the fact he parked in all the wrong places. Ashton reinvented the idea I had of drumming. He was gifted. But Luke, Luke had me watching his every move. From his hands on his guitar to his lips as he sang. I hoped he'd never stop signing. It captured every piece of attention I had. It was driving me slowly insane.

"So what did you think? The boys chorused. They were all breathing heavily as they're stage performance added to the whole band.

"You guys are amazing holy shit!" I squeaked.

"Really?" Luke looked surprised.

"Yess. This is like my first concert actually." I admitted.

"No way. You haven't seen anyone live?" Ashton questioned before taking a long gulp of his water.

"Nope. You guys are my first." I nodded.

"So I guess you could say we took your concert virginity." Ashton winked. What the hell was wrong with these boys?

"Yeah you fucking creep." I laughed. "So what else have you guys got?" I asked dying to hear more.

The boys blinked at each other.

Michael rubbed the back of his head "we kinda only wrote three songs."

"That's a lie." I announced. The four boys looked at me in confusion. "I know for a fact Luke has written another."

Luke's eyes darted to the floor "not really" he shrugged.

"did you write one about Vanessa?" Calum interjected. Who. The. Fuck. Is. Vanessa?

"Kinda sorta." Luke answered. All of a sudden there was an aching pain in my chest, my cheeks were burning and I could already feel waves of tears crashing in in my eyes. It might have taken me a while to admit it to myself but I think I had feelings for Luke the minute he brought me in out of the rain. Even after he lied I still couldn't get him out of my head. It was stupid. My feelings were based off of so little yet it felt like so much.

"Who's Vanessa?" I croaked feeling and looking like a total idiot. I had really thought he had written a song about me. He must have thought I was a fool.

"My.. Eh my girlfriend?" He phrased it like a question.

"Dude you only got her number at the cinema. You work quickly my friend." Calum patted him in the back sending shivers down my spine.

I needed to leave. I felt embarrassed, angry, hurt. I needed out.

"I probably should get going." I stood up from the couch and made my way upstairs before anyone could stop me. I headed for the front door when Mrs Hemmings tapped my shoulder.

"Are you leaving already? I just made some tacos." She smiled.

"No I'm fine. I need to get home." I lied.

"Well you're welcome anytime my dear." Her kind eyes glowed as she saw me out. She waved me goodbye as I left. As soon as the large door closed behind me I felt a tear roll down my cheek and then another and another. I was light headed and couldn't point myself in the right direction.

Just as I was going to phone my mother and ask her to collect me a hand was placed on my left shoulder.

"Keira we should talk." I recognised his voice right away. It made me freeze. Talk about what? How he send some stupid texts and made me believe I actually had a shot? Or the fact he had gotten a girls number the same night I was I invited here?

"Luke I need to get home." Lying was becoming a habit of mine.

"That's BS and you know it Keira." He spat.

I turned around and linked eyes with the dickface.

"What then?" I hiccuped.

"Those texts.." He began

"They weren't meant for me I know." I shook my head.

"No. Yeah. I mean Keira I'm sorry if I lead you-"

I cut him off -" what even Luke? We're just friends and I don't even know if we qualify as that. It's getting late anyway."

"It's half six" he giggled showing me his watch.

I sighed. "Well I need to get dinner."

"Good thing my mom made tacos then." He smirked.

"I'm allergic."  That was a lie. Tacos were one of my top ten favourite foods. I wrote it down in a old journal I had when I was seven. My mom said I was becoming too picky and in protest I wrote down the ten foods I loved. I ate them and only them for lunch and dinner for a solid year until I 'lost' the list. Of course I remembered everything that was on it but I was so sick of all of my food choices I pretended I had forgotten them.

"To what?"  He inquired obviously not believing me.

"The cheese. One hundred percent allergic. Sorry."

"Really? Good thing you add what you like. Now come on." He grinned. Man did I wanna punch him in the face. With my lips. On his lips.

"Ughhh." He took my hand as he dragged me back in his house.

"This is kidnapping." I informed him

"You're coming in at your own will." He laughed

"You're pulling me in." I motioned to our hands.

"Well I suppose I've kidnapped you then." He chuckled. "Oh and Keira I've seen you eat cheese sandwiches for the past ten years."
