~Meeting Harry

At 1 I left the room sporting a strapless yellow dress, black tights, and yellow gladiators. My first class today was “Human pathology”. It took me about five minutes to find the class. The classroom was huge, and white, I looked around for a second before looking for a seat. There were a couple of people who were already sitting down. I sat a little farther back than the, and started taking out my notebook and favorite light blue pen.

I heard a bell ring as the door closed and then the teacher went up to the front of the room. There were only about 10 people in the room not including myself. The teacher- Mr. Hale was in his early thirties. He had short dark hair and light brown eyes. I stayed to myself and hurried out the door when class was over. My last class of the day Psychology, it wasn’t very far away. I went in quickly and sat down.

There were 20 desks that were all place close together in pairs. Though the walls were a light green color they were covered in posters with information. The teacher sat in her chair doing something on the computer.  The room was almost filled with students when I felt someone sit beside me. I looked up to find the guy that I bumped into this morning. His hair was a light brown and he started his eyes were a light green. He stared at me, not saying anything.

“I’m Jade,” I said, holding out my hand. He looked at it for a second before turning his attention to the front of the room when the teacher started talking. I slowly dropped my hand and faced the front of the room. Ok, if he’s ignoring me, I’ll ignore him too, I thought. Then I started listening to what the teacher was saying and my eyes widened.

“Your partners for the rest of the year are the ones sitting next to you,” he said. I looked over to find the guy looking sat me. God hates me today, I thought.

“What?” the guy sitting next to me asked. Oops I must have said it out loud.

“Nothing,” I replied looking down. The teacher started to pass out papers and said we should answer them with our partners.

“Um…what’s your favorite color?” I asked looking at the questions. I could feel his eyes into the side of my head but I didn’t look up.

“Black,” he said.

“Okay, mine’s orange, “I told him, after I wrote down his response. We were like that for a while until the end of class, but we still had another paper to do.

“Here, call me after 6 or whatever,” he said while writing his name and number on my palm…in sharpie. Damn it, that stuff is permanent! I thought angrily, while he casually walked out of the classroom. I looked at my hand, and my lips involuntarily turned into a light smile.

“Harry…” I whispered.

After I left class I stopped by Maine’s for a late lunch and stayed for a while taking to Maine. When I got back to my room, I took the phone out of my pocket and checked the time. It read 5:30pm as I turned on Pandora. I sat on my bed for a while, but every time I looked at my hand I debated whether I should call him. Around 8 I just picked up the phone and called him. When he picked up I could hear the loud music.
