OUT FOR BLOOD - CHAPTER 12 - Happy Vampire Hunting

CHAPTER 12:

CATALINA'S POV:

"So who was that?" I ask Jaden. I am pissed, but I don't want him to know just how jealous I am. When I stepped off the elevator, I see some skank trying to rub herself against Jaden and Jaden trying to avoid it. I'd slap him upside the back of the head if he hadn't given her the brush off.

He sighs, "Just someone who can't let go."

"Does she really live in the building?" I ask.

"Oh, you heard that?" he says.

"Yes, I heard that. Wait a minute, do you feed off of her?" I ask. Better say 'no'.

"Not anymore," he says vaguely.

"What does that mean? When was the last time?" then I quickly hold up my hand, "Nevermind, I don't want to know. I might just go after the bitch, if I did." I wonder how many ex-girlfriends of his live in this building.

Jaden strokes my cheek with his thumb and kisses my forehead, "Let's just forget about her. If she becomes more of a problem, I'll make her move out."

"Don't worry, if she becomes more of a problem, I'll drag her out of the building by her hair myself," I say. I'm still pissed off about her saying that she'll kill me. I'd like to see her try. I'm not some vampire groupie like her.

Jaden pulls back and says, "Come on Kitty Cat, let's go hunt. We'll drive 'The General Lee'. It'll be fun." Oh great, his ugly orange racist car.

"Fine, but I usually try to stay more inconspicuous than that," I say and follow him to the elevator.

While we are driving to the area of downtown that has the most nightlife, I ask Jaden, "So, when do you think you'll visit your parents to get information on Jonathan and Daniel?"

He glances over at me, "Soon."

"O-kay, that's not a lot of information. Do you want me to go with you?" I ask. I'm worried because there's a reason he stayed away from them. What if they hurt him?

"You are not going," he says harshly. "I don't want them anywhere near you. Promise me you'll never make any type of contact with them Catalina."

I can tell he is very serious about this, "I promise Jaden."

He relaxes and says, "I forgot to tell you. You look beautiful tonight."

"Thanks. You should think so, you bought all of it," I tell him and look down at what I'm wearing. I dressed up for the club we were going to tonight. I managed to hide a few of my new weapons in the new boots I am wearing. Breaking in the new weapons is going to be so much more pleasurable than breaking in these boots. I have a thin stake tucked into each of the boots. The skirt is short, but full enough that I was able to strap a sheath around each thigh with silver daggers tucked into them.

He smiles, "I know, I have great taste. You know, I still have the rest of those outfits I bought for you to wear as a blood slave to the vampire clubs. We cancelled that route, but I still wouldn't mind seeing you in them."

I roll my eyes, "Pervert." Then I think for a moment about the possibilities and say, "We'll see."

We park and walk to a club. When we get inside, Jaden says to me, "I'm going to consider this a date, but I still plan on taking you on a proper one. One with no weapons involved."

"Looking forward to it," I say while he leads us over to the bar. We both order drinks and he talks me into actually drinking mine. I tease him that he could get arrested for contributing to someone drinking under the legal age. He teases back that he would just use mind control on the arresting police officers.
