Before I got too far, I decided I should probably go to the bathroom first just to see what damage was done. I limped over to the girls bathroom and quickly went inside. When I walked in the mirrors where right in front of me so I grab onto the closest sink and look into the mirror above it. The damage to my face wasn't horrible, I had only gotten a split lip and some bruises. Then I lifted up my shirt to see what had been done to the lower half of my body and that's where the real damage was. I had a huge bruise on my stomach from where they had kicked me before I could curl up. There were other damages that I couldn't see, like the bruises on my back for the kicking. I was finished looking at what they had done so I quickly pulled my shirt down.

Since I was going to be late to class I had to go to the office to get a late pass. The sad thing is, once I got there and had gotten the pass none of the adults asked where all of the bruises and my split lip had come from. They couldn't even acknowledge the bullying that was happening in their school. I hobbled to my class and gave the teacher my late pass, quickly going back to my seat. The class was only about 10 minutes in so I didn't miss much, which I was grateful for, and the rest of the period had finished in a flash. My next two classes finished without much hassle and next thing I knew it was lunch.

I was absolutely terrified for lunch. Trent and his goons could come find me and hurt me again. I hate this feeling, the feeling of not being safe, always having to look behind you and make sure your tormenter wasn't following you. The walk from my video class to my locker was a short one, which I was grateful for. Once I had put all of my stuff in my locker I grabbed out my lunch and then made a beeline to the girls bathroom. On the way to the bathroom I accidentally ran into someone causing all of their books to fall out of their hands. I apologized profusely and started to pick up their books for them. They kept saying it was fine and bent over to start picking up their books.

All of the books had finally been picked up and I looked up to see who I had bumped into. When I looked up I saw the most beautiful girl I had ever seen. I blushed, now knowing that I had ran into and knocked the stuff out of the hands of, the most beautiful girl in the school. All I felt was embarrassment and a bit of anger towards myself. Why do you always have to make a fool of yourself, I thought angrily.

"Hi. My name is Elizabeth but everyone just calls me Liz," She said holding her hand out for me to shake.

"I-I'm Anne. And I like those books you have there. Lee, Rowling, Orwell, all great authors," I had to stutter out while I took her invitation for a handshake.

"Why thank you. Do you enjoy reading to?" she questioned.

"Yeah. The books you have there are some of my favorites. Well besides Tolkien," I answered.

"Well it seems as if we have a lot in common Anne. I would absolutely love it if you would become my friend," she looked at me expectantly.

"Of course I will. I need a few more friends that like the same things I do. Would you possibly want to eat lunch with me?" I asked.

"Lead the way" she smiled.

I was ecstatic. Not only did a pretty girl ask me to be her friend but now she's willing to eat lunch with me! I lead her to the lunchroom and found the nearest empty table to sit down at. Our lunch together was perfect. We found out that we shared so much in common, she also plays an instrument, she likes to write, she loves live theater, and we like the same kinds of movies. It was like fate sent me the perfect human being. Sadly lunch couldn't last forever and soon enough we had to part ways. The only good thing about leaving lunch was that she gave me her phone number.

We texted all throughout the next two periods. I had never been on my phone so much during class ever before. I just didn't want to stop talking to her. Next thing I know English was over and it was time to go to orchestra. I walk into the instrument locker room, grab my instrument, then head into the class to sit down in my chair. When I walked into the room I walked past the cello section and noticed a familiar face. Liz was in the orchestra! Orchestra, already being my favorite class of the day, just became so much better, if it got any better I would probably burst from happiness.

We didn't talk much in that class, of course because we were playing our instruments, but we did keep making eye contact. Soon enough the bell rang and the day was over. Who would have thought after the morning I had my day would end up like this. I put my instrument carefully away in it's case and started walking to my locker. Liz had come up beside me and we started talking about books some more. We were at my locker and I look over see Trent and his goons looking at me. When we made eye contact he did the zip your lips hand motion at me. I gave him a small nod of acknowledgement and thankfully Liz didn't notice. But of course she couldn't refrain from asking the question I had been waiting for all day.

"Ok I haven't said anything all day but I need to know. What happened to you? You have bruises on your face and a split lip," she asked with a concerned look.

"Oh it nothing trust me," I tried to ease her mind.

"You don't have to tell me but I know something is going on and I will give you time but I do want to know," she said.

"I will, eventually. Well I have to go my foster dad just texted me saying he was here," I grabbed my stuff and was getting ready to leave.

"Don't forget to text me," She said as she leaned in and gave me a hug.

The hug was just amazing. That was the first hug I had gotten from a person my age in about 10 years. When we let go I finished getting my stuff together and I waved goodbye to her. My heart was soaring, I hadn't felt this good in a while. That happiness was soon over because I had gotten out to Lin's car and he saw the damage done to my face.

"What in the hell happened to you? Who did this" Lin questioned.

Hello! I hope y'all liked it! Also thank you so much for 190 read!! I know I'm hinting very heavily towards something about Anne and you may or may not hear more about it very soon ;). Anyway bye! XOXO
