Chapter 4- Parents

       I woke up at 2:30 in the morning sweating and on the floor. The reason for that is that I had the same nightmare as the night before, the one about how my parents died. I slowly crept out of my room to the kitchen because it always helps me go back to sleep after that dream if I drink water. I know that's really odd but don't judge. I had to rummage around the kitchen to find the cup because I had no idea where anything was. My rummaging must have woken Lin up because next thing I know he was in the kitchen.

"What are you doing up?" He asked.

"Oh I had a bad dream and drinking water usually helps me get back to sleep. It's weird I know," I replied.

"That's not weird at all! Here I'll get you a cup and some water," he said while walking to a cupboard and grabbed out a glass and filled it with water.

I'll have to remember that for later I said as I thanked him and took the glass he was holding out for me. Slowly I started sipping the water and calmed myself down. Once I was almost finished with the glass Lin asked me a question.

"I don't want to seem intrusive but what was your bad dream about?" He asked.

"Oh it was just about the night my parents died, which was the same night I got these," I said as I pointed towards my burns on my arm and leg.

"So your parents died in a fire?" He asked putting two and two together.

"Yea. Our house caught on fire and they were trapped in the basement with no way out. I had to climb out of our kitchen window because all of the doors were blocked," I said while tearing up a bit.

Lin, seeing that I was crying, walked over to me and enveloped me in a big hug. He wiped my tears and kissed the top of my head. You know he was really good at comforting people. He was a great dad, anyone would be lucky to be his kid. I wished he was my dad but sadly he was just fostering me and I was probably gonna have to leave soon.

"It's ok. I'm so sorry that had to happen to you but I promise you will have a family that loves you more than anything soon," he said as he pulled out of the hug, held my arms and looked into my eyes. After he finished talking he pulled me back into the hug.

"Well it's getting late and that water really helped. I'll see you tomorrow morning! Goodnight," I said to him as we let go of the hug.

"Goodnight I will see you tomorrow morning," he said and kissed the top of my head then left to go back to his room.

I put my glass in the dishwasher then headed back to my room. As soon as I got back into my room I hopped into bed and I was out. I slept really well the rest of the night, no nightmares came. Once I woke up I could smell bacon and pancakes cooking. I absolutely loved pancakes and bacon! I flung the covers off of me and quickly headed to the kitchen.

"Good morning! I'm making pancakes and bacon for breakfast, I hope you like it," Vanessa said shyly.

"I love pancakes and bacon! Thank you so much, you're the best," I shouted.

"Oh wow it's no problem. It's actually done now," she said as she was taking off the last pancake.

I helped her bring the pancakes, bacon, syrup, drinks, plates, cups, and forks to the table. We all sat down at the table and I got myself 2 pancakes and 2 strips of bacon. I, of course, poured a generous amount of syrup on all of my food and started scarfing it down. I had been the first one to finish my food probably because Lin and Vanessa had to feed Sebastian. I knew wanted to take more food but I didn't know if that was ok.

"Can I have more food?" I asked them politely.

"Of course you can! You don't have to ask eat as much as you want, but I mean leave a little bit for us," Lin answered with a chuckle.

I thanked him and put another pancake on my plate with another strip of bacon. Again I put a generous amount of syrup on my food and scarfed it down. And once again I was done with all of my food before anyone else was finished. I decided I should go take a shower and get ready for the day so I told Lin and Vanessa I was going to take a shower. I grabbed my plate and glass and rinsed them off and put them in the sink. Then I went off to my room to find an outfit for the day.

Once I found my outfit I went to the bathroom across the hall to take a shower. I took my toiletries with me and put them away so I wouldn't have to carry them back and forth from my room. I found a towel in the cupboard under the sink and put it on the towel rack. It felt good to take a shower and get all of the dirty grubbiness off of me. Once I got out I look in the mirror and hate what I saw. My burn scars are so ugly! I wish they would just go away, I wish I had never gotten them in the first place. Anyway I finish getting ready and I head out of the bathroom to put my dirty clothes in my room. I head out to the living room where Lin, Vanessa, and Sebastian are all dressed and ready for the day too.

"Well, I have a two show day today so I'll be gone all day, but I figured you might want to get stuff to decorate your room. I figured you can go with V and Sebastian to pick out stuff and colors," Lin said.

"Oh wow you don't have to do that," I said not wanting them to spend a lot of money on me.

"We want to though. We want you to feel at home in this house and decorate your room however you want," Vanessa said sweetly.

"Thank you so much that is very nice of you," I said with a big smile.

As soon as we finished our exchange Lin kissed Vanessa and headed out of the door. We weren't far behind him though. All Vanessa had to do was grab Sebastian's baby bag and we left too. All I can say right now is that this is by far the best foster house I have ever been a part of. I wish I could stay here forever.

Hello! I know what y'all are thinking, holy crap 3 updates in one day! Well I have absolutely nothing to do as again I'm sick. Also on top of that I really love writing this story. So yea I keep wanting to write more. Anyways bye! XOXO
