Chapter 9: Drop The Base

Wonder Tower, Arkham City.
July 4, 11:50pm EST.
(Robin's POV)
We raced through the hallways of the underground and made our way up to the tower before beginning to climb up a set of maintenance stairs that looked like they lead to the top, while along the way we found dead bodies of League Assassins and surprisingly two Talons. Making our way up the tower we end up at a door that leads into the main observation floor of the tower,
"Damn this place is something else isn't it" Jason says as we walk into the room
"well it is the facilities control center isn't it" I state
"true, true but I still think that this is over kill" Jason states gesturing to the room
"we don't have time for that, we need to stop that ship from leaving" Batman states before we move further into the room and stop before a light shinning in through a hole in the roof
"good of you all to finally arrive" a familiar voice says
"Lex Luthor" Batman states as I look around and see Talons around the light as well with some League assassins behind them
"I would love to stay and talk but I have a lot of things to do and you would only get in my way" Luthor says before a metal arm enters through the hole in the roof and stops next to Luthor
"what is it your up to?" Flash questions
"if I told you it would give you a chance to stop me now wouldn't it" Luthor states grabbing onto the metal arm
"I can't believe you thought he would just tell you his evil plan" Jason mocks
"like I stated I have things to do, good luck leaving Arkham City in one piece" Luthor states as the arm retracts and the light turns off as Lex Luthor leaves through the roof ,the rooms lights turning off as well and the sound of grunts sounding off in front of us.

When the lights turn back on all that is left is the dead bodies of League assassins and Court Talons as well as the hole in the roof,
"so how do we get up there?" Jason questions
"yeah how do we?" Wally asks " you know since I'm sure we're going after him" Wally adds
"I don't think he knows" I state looking a Bruce's Cowled face
"Batman doesn't know something?" Roy questions
"it happens" Jason states
"but no one expects it to happen to Batman of all people" Wally says
"good point" I state
"I think he's trying to figure out a way" Jason says
"can't you just use your grappling hocks" Catwoman questions
"I don't know if you've noticed but we are still to far below the ship or Hall of whatever to attach our grappling hocks to it" I explain rolling my eyes behind my mask
"stop gossiping, we need to find a way up there" Batman states getting our attention which makes us get down to business with the look he's giving us.

Hall of Doom, Above Gotham City.
July 4, 11:59pm EST.
(3rd Person POV)
After making it back to the Hall of Doom Luthor made his way towards the flight deck of the Hall and placed the Electrum Vial into a glass containment unit, after making sure that the vial was safe Luthor made his way over to the controls began to flip three red switches and a few buttons,
"Good bye Arkham, I can't say it's been pleasant" Luthor says before flipping a green switch
Detaching From Object.
Detachment Complete.
The computer states as a Luthor looks at a monitor with a camera view of the underside of the Hall and sees Arkham City fall to the ground below,
"Good Bye Arkham" Luthor says once more before setting the Hall for a new destination with the words 'Summit Point' typed onto the screen in front of him.

July 5, 12:02am EST.
(Batman's POV)
We were at the top of the tower and trying to figure out how to get into the Hall above us, but before we could come up with a definitive way the ground beneath us shook and as I looked out the windows of the room I could see that the metal extensions that were attached to Arkham City rising above us,
"Batman!" I hear Red Hood shout as I turn to see the others being forced into the wall
"are we falling?" Kid Flash questions as i grab hold of the computer monitors
"yep and judging by where we are, Arkham is tipping on its side" Flash says
"this landing isn't going to be pretty" Red Hood states
"Calm down, we'll get through this"I say as I look out the window again and see the harbour coming faster towards us "Brace yourselves!" I shout as the ground approaches and then it all goes black.

I came to in the remains of Wonder Tower on top of rubble and debris from other areas of the facility, slowly standing up I get a chance to look around and see the damage that has been done when I see the others on a railing above me. The first to move is Red Hood and Flash and not a few seconds after Robin and the rest are also moving,
"what the hell happened?" Red Hood questions
"we hit the ground" I state
"how did we survive?" Robin questions
"we seem to have been saved by the rest of Arkham City" I state
"is there a way out?" Flash questions
"can you run to the other side of this room and see how deep we may be?" I ask
"sure" Flash states before run around the room and returning not a moment later
"well?" I question
"since Wonder Tower was the tallest building in Arkham City, the other side is visible to the outside world" Flash explains
"so we can get out" Red Arrow says
"yes we can" Flash confirms
"what do we do once we're out?" Green Arrow questions
"we track down the Hall and make sure that all of Arkhams and Blackgates inmates are returned to their prisons of origin" I explain before we move to make our way out of the remains of the tower
"so we just climb our way out I'm guessing?" Catwoman questions
"that would seem to be the only way if we didn't have our grappling hocks" Robin stated
"and we can just run out" Flash says gesturing to both Kid Flash and himself
"we have arrows built for this kind of thing" Green Arrow states
"so I'm hitching a ride with one of you?" Catwoman questions as I grab her around her waist before Robin, Red Hood and I shoot our grappling hocks upwards and as they hock onto the window frame above we retract them and move towards the exit as the others follow, we had work to do before this night was through.
