Chapter 4: Night At The Gotham Museum

Gotham Museum.
The Bowery, Arkham City.
(Flash's POV)
Wally and I arrived outside of a fenced off subway station long since abandoned and ruined, a carved stone sign still in place on the old brick work of the building said ' Cyrus Pinkney Institute For Natural History'. Making our way to the front doors I notice a bit of ice around the frame but still Wally and I push open the doors and enter the museum, as we enter we see the large information hall with many paths to the different sections cut off by debris and fallen rubble but one was still accessible and it was marked Iceberg Lounge.

Making our way through the opening to the iceberg lounge we notice straight away that the direct path is blocked off and the only way to get through is to make our way through the Natural History exhibit rooms. As we make our way through to the Natural History section our communication ear pieces go off,
"Batman to Flash" I hear
"what's up Bats? we just entered the museum" I say
"Robin, Red Hood and I are heading to Ace Chemicals, Mr Freeze requires assistance, meet us there when you are done at the museum" Batman explains
"you tell Green Arrow and Red Arrow?" I question
"i'm just about to, don't take to long, the Joker doesn't wait around" Batman says ending the communication link as we continue through and finally reach the Natural History exhibit hall. walking through the hall we see a sign with directions to an alternative route to the Iceberg Lounge and so we begin to follow the signs,
"did Batman give you a location on where we are going after this?" Wally asks
"he said Ace Chemicals" I answer
"but did he say where that was in this facility" Wally questions and he had a point, Batman didn't tell us where it was
"once we're done here i'll ask him" I say as we continue through to the History Of Technology Exhibit which connected to the Iceberg Lounge, it was strange as we walked through since there weren't any guards to be seen but then again they could be waiting for the right time to attack us, I guess we just keep moving forwards.

Walking through the ruined halls of the museum we finally make it to the Iceberg Lounge where the first thing we see is the ice all over a large pool of water,
"this must be the main entrance" Wally says as he points over to a sign flashing the words Iceberg Lounge on it
"so this must be like an attraction of some sort" I say
"I wonder how long this museum was abandoned for?" Wally questions
"who knows, but I doubt what happened with the Legion Of Doom helped any" I add, one of the locations destroyed in there attack on Gotham was the Arkham City project and we had no idea what was destroyed or how much devastation was caused to the site but seeing the facility now showed that maybe the closer to the centre we get the more we'll uncover about that. We sped across the ice to the other side and soon we were near the belly of the beast, we walked through the doorway and into the main room so see one of Gotham Cities rouges  the Penguin and his men on a make shift throne looking like they were waiting for us to arrive,
"Welcome, we've been expecting you" Penguin says with a smirk which puts me on edge
"you've been expecting us?" I question
"well, I was expecting the Bat more but you are just as good" Penguin says
"you plan on torturing us or something?" Wally questions
"not at all, the Joker has taken something of mine I want back" Penguin explains
"let me guess, you want us to get it back for you?" I question as Penguin sits there a bit stunned by my answer to him
"you look shocked but Mr Freeze asked Batman a similar thing" Wally says
"that clown has been going around trying to get us to fold to his words, we refused and now he has taken things from us" Penguin explains
"why would he want you to fold to his words?" I question
"he let slip that he knows of a deal going down tonight, right here in Arkham City, he wants what they are trading and wanted to recruit what he called the old team" Penguin explains
"old team?" Wally asks
"the Legion of Doom, or what remains of it" Penguin says
"so anyway what is it that the Joker took from you?" I ask
"An experimental device that was hooked into the Museums systems, it controlled the locking systems and now that it is gone most of the museum is locked shut" Penguin explains
"so all you want is for us to get this device back for you and you won't cause trouble?" I question
"of cause, its a pain in the arse to break through the walls of the place" Penguin answers, it looked like we would be meeting Batman, Robin and Red Hood at Ace Chemicals now

Unknown Location, Midtown Gotham.
July 4, 9:30pm EST.
(3rd Person POV)
Gotham City was in chaos, the GCPD and BPD struggling to keep the peace within the city as riots and looting spread through the streets like a plague, on a tall building overlooking the chaos stood two masked men as they observed the chaos and Arkham City,
"the deal has been struck" one man says
"it is nearing time for them to arrive" the other states
"what they have stolen will be returned to us" the first man says
"indeed it will, our masters will be pleased when it is reacquired" the other says
"what of him? do we have orders to collect him as well?" the first questions
"not at the moment, we are to observe him for now" the other states
"Observation it is then" the first says
"not to worry brother, the Gray Son of Gotham will soon be one of us" the other states as they look over the city and the chaos below, there time was near and it would be grand.

(Flash's POV)
After that cheerful conversation with the Penguin we left the museum and now we were standing outside of the building as I tried to get a hold of Batman to inform him of the situation as it now stood,
"Flash to Batman" I say over the communications link
"what is it?" I hear back
"Penguin has given us a similar request to what Mr Freeze gave you" I say
"he asked for assistance with something?" Batman questions
"Joker stole an experimental locking control device from the museum" I answer
"strange, he took Mr Freezes wife" Batman states
"Penguin says Joker was trying to recruit the Gotham remnants of the Legion of Doom but they refused and so he took things from them" I explain
"get here soon Flash, southern end of Amusement Mile, can't miss it the liquid around the building glows toxic green" Batman says before ending the link, and so I turn to Wally
"follow me kid" I say and he nods as I speed off with him behind me towards Ace Chemicals and we can only hope Green Arrow didn't run into a similar situation as us.
