Chapter 14: Reconciliation

Mount Justice.
(Red Hood's POV)
As I stood back and watched Robin begin to talk things out with the rest of team I could see that Superboy and Artemis were still not invested in the conversation, while Miss Martian and Kaldur kept giving apologetic looks to him. All in all I was starting to get annoyed and I could see the same thing happening to Roy and Wally so I did the thing any big brother would do and made my way up to support my little brother,
"this would work a lot better if you two were invested in this conversation" I state stopping the conversation that was going on
"what do you mean?" Artemis asks
"I mean, that you and Super kid over here have that look that criminals gave me before I used to shot them through the head" I state making Artemis take a step back "the simple thing is this, for a team that is dedicated to stealth to work the whole team needs to work together, even if it's just a professional relationship" I explain
"what did you have in mind?" Kaldur asks
"I would say lock them all in a room and wait for them to sort it out but I'm not putting Robin through that so I'm going to suggest something else that will probably piss Batman off" I explain
"you aren't suggesting?" Roy questions
"what about his rule on that?" Wally asks
"fuck his rules, these guys want trust then we give them trust" I state
"you mean to reveal our identities to the team?" Dick asks
"that's exactly what I mean" I says " see I'll go first" I add before I reach for the back of my helmet and unclasp the locks on the back before pulling the helmet off of my head,
"Hi, I'm Jason Todd - Wayne nice to meet you" I state with my helmet in my hands
"no way" Miss Martian says before coming up to me with stars in her eyes
"you're Jason Todd?" Artemis asks
"no shit blondie" I say before I see that Dick understands what I'm getting at and reaches for his mask before pulling it off,
"I... I'm Richard Grayson - Wayne" Dick says and then Miss Martian is all over him as well, and with a small glance over at Bruce I can see that this was the right call to make as he to takes his cowl off with a small smile on his face
"we trust you with our identities, I apologies that I didn't let Dick and Jason let you know, I was trying to protect them" Bruce says coming up next to us and we must have sent them into shock because now they were just frozen in front of us.

After a while though Artemis is the first to speak to us which if I'm honest isn't a surprise,
"you really do trust us" she says
"i wouldn't be here if I didn't" Dick says " I can't promise that I won't be annoying and impulsive sometimes but I can try and stop if that's what you really want" Dick says
"Dick no, if this team is going to work then they need to except you for who you are" I state
"If you're willing to trust us with your identity then I guess I could try and get used to the person you are" Artemis
"I take it your not speaking for Super baby?" I ask
"no, I'm speaking for my self" Artemis says
"Thank you for giving me a chance Artemis" Dick says
"no problem, I guess I did overreact with this and Batman did make you leader on that mission, I'm sorry we got you hurt" Artemis says
"it's ok, thank you Artemis" Dick says with a small smile
"hey Bruce, do you have some Kryptonite?" I ask
"I always do, why?" Bruce questions getting a look from Superman
"can I use it on Superboy?" I ask
"no" is the simple answer I get
"wait, if Artemis is willing to try then I guess I am to, I mean it was Wally, Kaldur and Dick who saved me from Cadmus" Superboy says
"this team, I mean seriously it was this easy to get them to make up" Roy says
"true but at least this is over now and we can get back to how it was before" Wally says
"this team is never going back to how it was before, how it was before was lead to this" I say
"I meant everyone being nice to each other" Wally states
"oh... right, I'm glad things worked out" I says
"you see why I didn't want to be apart of the team now?" Roy questions
"Yeah I see it Harper" I state as the team switches to normal conversation which after all this time is a relief to see.

The team was catching up and the rest of us watched as the fractured team slowly began to fix itself, I mean it would take time and there would be times at which we would be needed to step in to stop things from escalating but hopefully from this experience they learned something and I for one wouldn't have to deal with this again, not that it wasn't nice spending time with my brother but now it would be under better circumstances and that was a plus in my book. As I look over at Bruce I can see he's talking to someone on his commlink before he comes over to me,
"that was Commissioner Gordon" he says
"what did he want?" I ask
"The computers of Lexcorps Gotham field office were wiped clean and the building was torched" Bruce explains
"does he have any leads?" I ask
"no he doesn't" Bruce says
"but I'm guessing you do" I state
"I think Luthor is cleaning up any loose ends in Gotham" Bruce says
"so it's all connected?" I ask
"Unfortunately I think so" Bruce says
"god damn this all" I say
"we'll talk more later, I just thought I'd let you know what was happening" Bruce says before we turn our attention back to the team who were still talking and messing around, this whole thing was beginning to take a turn for the worst I could just feel it, something bad was going to happen soon but what it was I just couldn't figure out yet.
