"Go Brad," Damian said, as Brad walked by with Ashley.
Brad have him a smirk like he's got the good stuff.
"Are you following me?" I asked.
"No. I guess we just have the same class together," Damian said.
"Okay," I said, bluntly.
"How come you don't hang with anybody?" Damian asked as we walked into class.
"I don't really have anyone to hang around with," I responded.
Then Damian pulled me over to a desk next to him. "Sit here. I actually like talking to you," Damian said.
"Thanks," I set my things down.

"Now remember these things, because there's a test coming up," Mr. Mason said.
The bell rang, but this time nobody rushed. Everyone just mumbled or chatted to others. I got up and pushed in my chair. "Hey Damian," Cole said, as he walked behind him.
"Hey Cole," Damian glanced behind him.
"You coming to the party tonight?" Cole asked.
"I don't know man. I might hang with Emma," Damian said.
"Oh. Ms. Goody-Two-Shoes," Cole said.
"I'm right here!" I turned around.
"Cole!" Damian shouted.
"What? That's what everyone calls her. Or a nerd. But she's not like us Damian," Cole said.
I ran out of the room and to my locker. Opening my locker, I grabbed my other books for AP Chemistry. My eyes started to tear up. "Emma!" Damian called out.
No one seemed to pay attention to him. They were all busy talking and focused on themselves. Damian finally approached me.
"I'm sorry. Cole was just being a jerk," he said.
"Just leave me alone. I don't understand what made me an outcast," I said.
"You are not an outcast. Why don't we study for that test?" Damian asked.
"No, go to the party," I insisted.
"Would you come with?" Damian questioned.
I thought about it. "Sure," I said.
I was ready to show them I'm not some Goody-two-shoes.
"Okay," Damian said," I'll pick you up at 7."
"Sounds good," I walked to my next class.
"Wait!" Damian called out.
He ran up to me with a piece of paper and a pen.
"Can I get your number?" He asked.
"Oh yea, sure," I said, as I wrote it down.
I continued to class after that. "Emma, your seat is by Cole," Mrs. Dunnam pointed out.
I sighed. This can't be happening. Cole smirked and leaned back in his chair. I sat down and put my books on the desk.
"Hi Emmie," Cole said.
"What?" I questioned.
"I'm just saying hi. Are you still mad at me?" Cole asked.
"Duh dip face," I said.
"I'm sorry, but people do say that," Cole said.
Ashley started whispering in front of us. I listened closely.
"Who does she think she is?" Marissa questioned.
"Right. She's so not popular or pretty. Like no one cares about her," Ashley said.
"I was assigned to this seat Ashley. I didn't pick it," I confronted her.
Ashley glanced back and raised her eyebrows. That was the end of it. She turned back around and I didn't hear another whisper from her.
The bell rang and I left to my locker. "Emmie wait," Cole said.
I looked at him as he stopped by my locker.
"What?" I asked.
"Come to the party," Cole insisted.
"I am," I pronounced.
"With who?" Cole questioned.
"Me," Damian said.
He came towards us. Damian and Cole were just talking to each other. I payed no attention and looked beyond them. Ashley and Marissa were standing across the hallway. They had a disgust look on their faces. I looked down for a minute and then closed my locker. It's lunch time. Something I can't stand, because sitting at lunch by yourself makes you feel like an outcast. But sitting with the people who you know that don't fit you, makes you an outcast.
I headed to an empty table. "Emmie, where are you going?" Cole stopped and asked.
"To eat my lunch," I responded.
"The table is over here," Cole pointed.
"We mean, eat lunch with us," Damian said.
"Oh. I don't know," I said.
Damian took me by the hand and walked me over to the table.
"Damian, I would be an outcast," I said.
"Don't think that way," Damian said in a kind way.
We sat down by Ashley, Courtney, Marissa, Tia, Brad, Cole, Cameron, and Zach.
"Who is this D-man?" Zach asked.
"This is-" Damian got cut off by Cole.
"Emmie!" Cole shouted.
"It's Emma," I corrected.
"Oh. Nice to meet you," Zach said.
"Yea," Cameron agreed.
"Thanks," I smiled.
I didn't talk much during lunch. I just sat there eating and listening to their conversations. When lunch was over, the rest of the day just flew by. I took my backpack and headed out to the parking lot.
"Emma," Coke called out.
I turned around. I was confused on what he was doing. "Did I forget something?" I questioned.
"I just wanted to see you," Cole said.
"For what?" I questioned.
"I don't know. Oh yea! Come hang with us guys before the party," Cole suggested.
"Sure," I said.
"Just follow my car," Cole commanded.
Damian stood in front of the school doors. I got in my car and waited for Cole. He took off and I followed him. Damian's icon showed on my screen. I picked up my phone,"Hello."
"Where are you going?" Damian questioned.
"By Cole and the guys," I said.
"I'm coming," Damian had already hung up the phone.
I set my phone down and pulled along side of the road, behind Cole's car. I got out and closed my door.
"Nice car Emma," Zach commented.
"Thanks," I shouted back.
