Chapter 33 - Fireworks

Vylad's POV:
"Where are you taking me (Y/N)?" I said as she guided me down some path. "You'll see," she said teasingly. I adjust my blindfold and continue following (Y/N). I hear Zane growling at laughing Travis as he tripped himself up and Garroth and Laurence laughing at each other like idiots. (May or may not ship these two ships xD) Aphmau, Katelyn, and Kawaii~Chan are giggling like maniacs behind our little parade and Dante and Aaron following behind them.

"We're here~" Kawaii~Chan cheers. (Y/N) puts her hands on my shoulders and leads me to a spot and whispers, "Stay here." Garroth and Zane shuffle up next to me and we all wait in anticipation.
"Okay guys. Turn around!" (Y/N) yells enthusiastically. We all whip around and tear off our blindfolds. I blink a few times. "Wow," Garroth breathes. Before us lays a collection of blankets all stretched out over this grassy hill. The stars and moon hover above us and providing us with our only source of light. I can barely make out little plates and bags of snacks scattered about on the blankets and our friends strewn across them. "What do you think?" a voice calls out. "You did this all for us?" I hesitantly say. "Of course we did! We wanted to make this the best Fourth Of July ever for you guys!" (Y/N)'s voice says. "Now come and sit!" Kawaii~Chan says, beckoning to us. I plop down next to (Y/N) and instantly reach for the popcorn.

(Y/N)'s POV:
"The fireworks should be starting soon," Laurence whispers in my ear. "Cool," I say, nodding my head. He pulls away, but not before pecking my cheek. Thank Irene we decided on no candles or flashlights, otherwise Laurence would've seen my completely red face. "I-uh... I'll be back soon," I say, excusing myself. I slowly get up and walk away.
As I travel further down the hill, I discover a little overhang large enough to fit about four people. I clamber onto it and sit down on it, admiring the view. "Are you okay?" Vylad asks, sitting next to me. "Yeah. *sigh* Just needed a little space from everyone." Vylad doesn't respond, just nods his head. "Well, I just wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me. It means a lot to me that you set this up for me and my family, not to mention letting me live with you," he says quietly. "It's my pleasure," I reply, leaning my head on his shoulder.
Vylad manages to slip his hand into mine which surprises me. We both look down at our entangled hands before looking up at each other. When I looked into his luscious green eyes, I knew exactly what he wanted, but he was too afraid to do it. Instead, I decide to do him a favor and do it myself. As I begin to lean in, he catches on and soon enough, our lips meet as the fireworks go off. We kissed for another moment or two before pulling away. A smile creeps across Vylad's face and I have no choice but to smile back. He then turns and says, "This is Fourth of July?" "Yep," I said, "Hanging out with loved ones, watching fireworks, and maybe eating a snack or two." "Well, I love Fourth of July now. It might be my new favorite holiday," he says with a smile. "Let's go back now," I said standing up. "Yeah, good idea," Vylad said hopping to his feet. "Race you," I say smugly, running off. "You're on," he yells back as we dash back, both laughing like there was no end to it. Thankfully, this is only the beginning of our friendship.

Okay, okay...I know what you're thinking.... "YOU SAID THIS WAS GONNA BE A LONG CHAPTER!" Well, I actually thought that it would be better to keep it short and sweet rather than drag it out. Anyways, Happy Fourth of July to all you fellow Americans and Happy Normal Day to all you non-Americans! See ya later nerds!
