If there was a way to stop time for just a second to slow things down, Violet would do it. She felt rushed when it came to Justin. He wanted to leave town as soon as possible without thinking of the consequences. Not the consequences that he'd have, but the ones Violet would have. She can't leave her family behind, or her friends, what was she supposed to do? She loves Justin, she wants to make him happy, but she's stuck between a rock and a hard place and there was no getting out without someone getting hurt.
Although the sentimental night in the hospital had convinced her to leave with Justin, Violet was having second guesses as usual. It wasn't easy for her to leave her family to go live with her boyfriend ten minutes away, so how was leaving the state, or possibly country, going to make things any better? It wouldn't.
Justin was relaxing on his leather couch in front of the TV, wishing he was healed already because he was tired of staying in one spot doing nothing. He'd watched rerun after rerun of his favorite shows and he was over it. So Violet was hesitant when approaching him about the situation.
"Hey Justin, can we talk?" She softly said, taking a seat on the arm of the couch.
He sat up as much as he could and smiled. "Yeah, what about?" Violet took a deep breath and Justin immediately became worried. And maybe just a bit angry too.
"I don't think we should leave, y'know? I-I think we should stay . . . just for a bit longer so I can straighten things out with my family." She quickly looked over his face for any kind of emotion. She didn't know it, whatever it was. He was good at that, and Violet hated him for it.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" He hissed and she flinched at his words. He huffed out a breath, tossed the remote on the coffee table, and struggled to stand up without hurting himself. She stayed quiet and grabbed his arms to try and guide him back down onto the couch, but he pushed her away and limped his way into the kitchen. "After everything I told you, you still want to stay? Violet, when you're with me in this town, there's no guarantee that you're safe. You're always going to be in harm's way. This shit, for example," he spat, gesturing to the house. It was full of bullet holes still, although the glass had been cleaned up and replaced, they couldn't say the same about the walls.
"I know that. You're completely right. But don't you think we're rushing this?"
"You're so naïve, baby girl. Before you, I've never loved anyone else like I love you. I know this is for real and I wanna keep you for as long as I can. I can't do that when I'm so deeply involved with dangerous fuckers like Kevin who will desperately try and hurt me in anyway they can," he spoke, staring her down. "And before you, it wasn't possible to hurt me. But now, you're all that I have . . . and I don't know if it's the medication that's making me such a pussy right now, but regardless, everything I said was true."
"I just . . . I don't know what to do, Justin."
"Go make things right with your family. Let them know you're okay, and let them know that you're leaving for a while. But you'll be back. Let them know you love them. And then come home to me."
Violet lightly smiled with her arms crossed. Whatever the pain medication was doing to him, she liked it. She walked over to him and gently hugged him, standing on her tip-toes to kiss his cheek and he rolled his eyes. He never liked cheek kisses. He'd rather stick his tongue down her throat and possibly grab her ass.
"I want to get you out of here, and I want to fuck you in every country," he said lowly, watching as she made her way to the refrigerator.
