Waking up in the morning, was probably the single most frustrating thing to do for Violet . . . for anyone really. Gripping her forehead, she groaned and smacked her lips, the taste of morning breath making her gag. She sat up and recalled last night's events. Justin and his annoying self. But she couldn't deny that he always left her shocked and breathless.
Stepping into the hall, she walked to the bathroom and took care of her business, including brushing her teeth. But before she could even leave the bathroom, Max stopped her. “That guy is an asshole, I hope you know. I heard you come home. You weren't exactly quiet.”
Violet rolled her eyes and pushed him out of the way. “Oh, trust me. I know. And I'm sorry,” she muttered, walking into her room, Max following her.
“Where did you guys go? I doubt there's anything interesting around here,” Max asked. Violet wasn't about to tell him that they ventured off into the woods and expect him to believe that it wasn't the slightest bit sketchy. So she settled for, “We drove around and stuff,” she shrugged. “And stuff?” He was about to say someing else when Violet's phone rang. “Lemme guess, it's him?”
Violet nodded, taking a seat on her bed. “I'm not answering.”
“Good.”
Violet let her phone ring until she was left with a voicemail. “Shut the door,” she muttered, setting her phone on speaker.
“Get over your dumbass bullshit and meet me in your driveway tonight at eight.” And that was the end of the voicemail. Violet had settled with the fact that Justin was obsessed with her for some reason. No one had ever tried this hard to annoy her.
“Stalker,” Max sang, walking out the door.
All Violet was thinking was she could not and would not let him succeed in trying to coax her into sneaking out with him. There was only so many times she could do that! She didn't like to disobey her parents, but Justin just brought out that newfound side of her. So she did what she had to. She sent him a very simple, but very harsh, text.
Please leave me alone! I already told you I want nothing to do with you -V
Okay, maybe not too harsh, but the “please” was for her own sake. Manners were always apart of her daily life.
You wont be able to resist for long babe. See u soon ;) -J
She groaned. This had to be sexual harassment! Maybe not sexual, but harassment for sure. “No” definitely meant no, so there is no reason for Justin to keep pursuing her . . . If that's what he was doing. Violet could never be sure what he was doing. He could kiss her and she wouldn't even realize what he had done until an hour later.
Great, now I'm thinking about him kissing me.

The dinner with the neighbors was soon and Violet was actually looking quite forward to it. She definitely needed a distraction. Who knows, maybe Bailey would be an interesting, little girl.
“Alright hun, how do I look?” Violet's mother asked, twirling around in a maroon dress.
“Great, you look great. Just like the other three times you asked,” Violet teased. She asked for it anyway, since she decided to sit in her mother's closet and watch as she tried multiple outfits on.
“What's got you so glum lately?” Tara frowned, her hands resting on her hips.
“Glum? I'm not glum, am I?” Violet said sporadically.
Tara chuckled. “You seem bummed,” she shrugged.
Violet put two and two together and thought maybe she actually did miss spending time with Justin. But it was ridiculous. Maybe she liked his mysterious, suspenseful side more than she hated his rude, dickish side.
“Violet!” Her mother snapped. Once she was back into reality, Tara shook her head. “What is it with teenagers these days?” She mumbled, picking lint off of her dress.
“I was just thinking, sorry. But what time are they coming?”
“Should be here any second. Go downstairs and make sure your brother has clothes on. I don't want him scaring the little one,” she chuckled.
Violet giggled, walking down the stairs and into the kitchen and there of course, was Max without pants on. “Jesus Max! People are coming over soon and you're not dressed! No one needs to see that.”
“You're lucky I have underwear on,” he smirked with his mouth stuffed full of a poptart. He trudged up the stairs and Violet heard the doorbell ring. “Dad, you should get the door,” she mumbled.
“I was plannin on it.”

Tara, Charlie, and half of the Dean family left for the restaurant, while Max was upstairs bonding with Tyler over video games. Turns out, he wasn't “geeky” and he played basketball, so it was like him and Max were a match made in heaven.
Bailey on the other hand, was absolutely adorable and sweet. She was actually very smart too. Her mother said she was very close to reading full sentences.
“So what kind of pizza do you like? Cheese, pepperoni, sausage?” Violet asked, holding a menu to a nearby pizza place.
Bailey pondered for a moment. “I like cheese!”
Violet smiled. “I like cheese too! Do you think your brother likes cheese?”
“I dunno,” she shrugged, leaning her chin onto her palms.
“Alright, I'll go ask the boys what type of pizza they want. You stay here, okay?” Violet explained, putting down the menu. “Here, I have a couple games on my phone. You can play them,” she smiled. Bailey's eyes lit up and she happily took her phone.
Violet headed up the stairs and pounded on Max's door. She heard the TV mute, so she assumed they paused whatever game they were playing. “What?” Max shouted.
“What kinda pizza do you guys want?” She shouted through the closed door. They muttered some words and Violet rolled her eyes. Why couldn't he just open the door?
“Supreme. Extra sausage.” And the TV volume started up again, blaring gunshots.
Violet made a mental note and went back to the kitchen, finding Bailey still intently playing on her phone. Violet decided against ruining Bailey's playtime and used the home phone to order the pizza instead.
