(Damen's pov)
It has been 10 months since I've been admitted to this prison. I haven't seen Rain since the last time she came which was well over 4 months ago. I haven't seen Iris or my brother in 10 months. But that is about to change soon. I'm planning. Planning to escape this prison and send this world into eternal darkness and pain. Soon everyone will know what I feel and soon the world will perish and-
"Hey prisoner! You have a visitor"
The guard interrupts my thoughts and I growl lowly.
"Who?" I snarl out. The guard says "you're brother"
I jump to my feet and rush to the door. "Are you sure?" The guard huffs but opens my door. I walk briskly out and head to the visiting room. My thoughts are sporadic how can he be here? He's not aloud to leave the realm of hell is he? Why would he chose to visit me first instead of his precious Iris? The last thought makes me pause then I turn into the visiting room and pause. I look for Rafael but I don't see him. Turning to the guard I ask "which one told you he was my brother" the guard points to a man in a black hoody and dark jeans. Walking hesitantly towards the visitor, I sit down on the chair and pull up the phone to talk.
"Hello? You asked for me?" There isn't a reply. I growl out and hiss "ok look. If you're going to pretend to be my brother then you'd better scat cause I'm not speaking to frauds. And I certainly won't have anyone pretending to be my brother. We may not get along all the time but I still love my brother and if you think-" I'm cut off when the stranger lifts his head and speaks softly through the phone on the other side "Damen. I need your advice on something." The stranger says. I growl out "how do you know my name?" That's when the stranger lifts his head completely. His face is covered in the shadows of his hood but I recognize those midnight blue eyes anywhere. "Raf?" I rasp out. He smirks his old smirk and shushes me. "I'm not aloud to be here long. So I'll speak, and you'll listen to me, quickly. I am not actually here in this realm. I've transferred myself to this realm through a hologram. So I don't have much time. Listen to me Damen. Please?" I nod slowly and he continues.
"Ok... Iris and I aren't speaking but that's my fault. First I was tricked by Saraphina, into thinking she was Iris and I kissed her. Iris must have dreamt walked because she was there and saw us kissing. Then I called her house hoping to hear her speak but her brother picked up and I asked for her mom instead. He said his mom wasn't home she was out..." He trails off so I say softly "out doing what?" He swallows deeply and says in a hushed voice "out planning a wedding" I sit up straight and go rigid. I look down at my hands and mumble "Iris's wedding?" He swallows and I hear him say "yes....no... I think so." I look up confused "so you don't know?" He shakes his head and explains how he hung up after and just assumed that it was a wedding for Iris and how he felt so broken. Then he tells me that after he picked up a photo of Iris and him on the beach, he kissed her face one last time before burning the picture. I stare detachedly at my brother. He's gone mental is all I think. I sit in silence with him for a few minutes and then I look up and I see the hologram flickering so I know he doesn't have much time.
Speaking quickly I whisper "Rafael I can't do much physically. But perhaps mentally I can help you. You do realize that Iris is only seventeen right?" He nods so I continue "therefore the only logical explanation is that the wedding would be for her-"
I'm cut off when the guard comes over and says. "Times up say goodbye" I look at Rafael sadly and as I stand I whisper into the phone "the wedding wasn't for Iris it was for the mother" then I hang up the phone and look once more at my brother and then I leave. I don't dare look back. For if I did his expression would kill me because I know how much pain he's in. I'm going through the same pain too.
Don't worry brother. Once I'm free and out of this place, I'll find a way-I promise!- to set you free of your pain too.

(Rafael's pov)
The wedding wasn't for Iris it was for the mother.
His words enter my skull and bounce around inside. As the hologram of me disappears and I blink returning to my world, joy swells in me like a wave of an ocean coming into the shore. I let his words sink in and I let the hope grow and swell. But there is some hesitancy because if he's wrong... No don't think like that! My mind howls. I get up and pace the length of the bedroom I'm in. Back and forth. Back and forth. I'm about to ware a hole in the floor when I hear Rocco come padding into the room. A soft, sad, whine escaping his snout. "What's wrong boy?" He whines again and turns sprinting outside. I rush after him. I fling open the door and walk to where I hear him barking. Entering the small forest that surrounds my house I call out "Rocco where are you boy?!" He answers with a bark and I follow it. I see him just up ahead in a clearing. Entering the clearing I kneel beside him and look at the empty clearing. "What is is boy?" He whines and looks up. His fur sticks up and then he growls. I look up and see the silhouette of a person entering the forest. I stand up and call out "can I help you?" But the silhouette stops moving and soon it disappears. A voice does respond to me though. How can you help me? I'm a lost soul in the realm of hell, I have no where else to go. I look up trying to pinpoint the voice, "then let me help you!" I cry out. The voice cackles and whispers right in my ear you can't help me. It's too late for me. But is it too late for you? Then it starts to sing. Its voice dark and raspy glowing with hate and despair.
In the darkness and depth of caves
Your soul is lost, and still it saves
A yearning for a betrayal to be undone
Trade a thousand lives for one
The world will burn, the world will die
But every soul will take to the sky
For all must die, and all must rest
The strong will show their families crest
Anger, fear, and hate grow with a desire
Engulf you in a rage of devilish fire
Bring your body unto thy
Let your graveyard be the sea
Despair muddles your mind
The treasure is yours to find
Are you brave, are you strong?
Can you undo the wrong...?
Burn and sink and let it end
Burn and sink and let it end...
The voice trails off in a soft little wail and as it disappears the words stick to me. But there is only a few sentences that stay with me and sink in my heart. Your soul is lost, and still it saves? Trade a thousand lives for one? The world will burn, the world will die? The treasure is yours to find? What do all these mean? I'm so lost and confused that I don't realize it's almost dusk until Rocco nuzzles my hand and pulls me in the direction of home. Looking back at the clearing once more I see the emerald green of Iris's eyes and as I blink it disappears. Turning away I try to believe that she isn't married. That she didn't give up on me that fast. With a soft, sad, sigh I walk until my foot touches the hard wood of the porch and then I open the door to the dark silent house and enter. Wondering what will be awaiting me for the next days to come.
