"Hold my hand. I don't want you to fall."
Oliver informed to me.
We had ran all the way over to the bridge. Or what was left of it. Large chunks of it were missing and there were cars, glass, and all sorts of junk on the remaining parts of the bridge.
I frowned as a few droplets of rain sprinkled down. I never enjoyed rain but at least it had some use and wash the blood off of me.
I held Oliver's hand and we let Zayjay take the lead. In her hands was a large, jagged-bladed knife that she held out in front of her. Her long black hair was in a ponytail that ran down to her hips. My hair reached my hips as well, but it was tied in a braid.
D'Anna took the rear of our little group, holding a large knife as well. Although this knife looked more like a kitchen knife you would use for chopping up vegetables.
We traveled quietly on the bridge. I managed to make it across without causing too much pain in my wounds. The bleeding wasn't as heavy as before but I kept applying pressure. Oliver had found a few pieces of cloth and wrapped up the cut I had on my arm.
"We need to find a place to stay at."
Zayjay stated when we were off the bridge.
"Staying out in the open is too dangerous. We could be kidnapped or killed or something."
D'Anna stared out at the city.
It was chaos.
There was small fires here and there.
Buildings were crumbled and their pieces were scattered around.
Tress and bushes were burnt up.
Roads were covered in cars and glass.
The one thing that I noticed the most was that there was no one around. No people. Not anywhere. Where did they all go? Where they all killed? Where they all taken hostage? Did they run away? If so, where to? I was wondering if these questions would ever be answered to me.
"Good point. But first, we should store up on things we'll need until the war is over.
Food, water, weapons, medicine, you know."
D'Anna informed.
Oliver spoke up next. "What about other people? If we ever find any, should we trust them or not. The terrorists could always pretend to be citizens."
"We'll trust the people we know. Any terrorist I see, I'll kill."
Zayjay confirmed.
