America's POV
~~~
The van finally stopped. We'd been driving for hours now, so long that the sun was setting.
The soldiers talked to each other. Not in English though. They most likely did this on purpose, knowing that I wouldn't be able to understand them.
They all stopped and got out of the van. Two of the soldiers helped me out and guarded me.
I looked around.
What was this place?
I guessed that we were at the bay.
There was boats and docks. The ocean was right there too.
Sudden panic spread through me. Were they going to ship me off to somewhere?
The two soldiers that were guarding me began to push me forward. I tired to fight back but of course it was no use.
There was groups of other people too. The groups were scattered across the line of the bay. There was a few small boats and then two large ships.
The people seemed frightened and worried. Tasitalen soldiers were surrounding the groups, shouting orders.
I was brought over to one of he groups. The people in the group seemed to be around my age, 15 up to I guessed 17 years old.
The other groups seemed to be in the same age as the rest. As if the people were divided by age. The group next to mine; they seemed 18 up to 20.
The group to the other side if us seemed 12 to 14.
The two soldiers had left me and now I was alone in this large group of teens. They were all shouting and talking. Some were even crying like I was doing. I was so scared I didn't know what was happening.
It was just so loud, I couldn't hear myself think. The tears wouldn't stop and I found it hard to breath. If I was able to take this duck tape off then I'd be able to breath through my mouth.
My nose was running, making breathing almost impossible.
I started to get lightheaded and squatted down. All I saw was a forest of legs.
As I cried and tried to catch my breath, the sky seemed to be getting darker.
It soon got to the point to where the sky had become a dark gray. Thick clouds blocked the setting sun.
Was rain really coming this fast?
A cold wind ruffled my hair. I shivered. This was torture.
A loud horn from one of the ships burned into my ears. It was a low hollow sound. I couldn't cover my ears because my hands were still tied together.
The horn stopped and my head was starting to feel worse. The tears just would not stop falling. I took in a shaky breath and stood up.
Instantly, I felt more lightheaded but I stayed on my feet. I looked around again.
The sky was dark and a light sprinkle started to come down. The wind was moving the rain into sheets of water.
The rain turned into a down pour. The water splashed against my face and soaked my clothes.
Water filled my boots, making my cut sting.
Brooke did a good job wrapping the cut but the bandaging wasn't waterproof.
I felt a hand land on my shoulder, making me jump. I squeaked and turned around.
A boy was standing behind me. He was tall and looked about 17. He had black hair that was plastered to the sides of his face, he had dark brown eyes and freckles.
The thing that I noticed the most was a scar he had on his chin. It went up to his bottom lip and was white.
He had a lip piercing but I think that he only had that to take the attention away from his scar.
He wasn't tied up like me but I could see a red mark to where duck tape must have been across his mouth.
"Are you okay?" He shouted. It was the only way I could hear him over all of the rain and people.
I shook my head.
"I'm gonna take off the duck tape,
okay!"
He placed one hand under my chin, cupping my face, with the other he held the tape.
"This is gonna hurt!"
I shut my eyes and he ripped the tape off. I yelped as the rain touched my lips. It tingled but it wasn't unbearable.
I took a large gulp of air and panted.
"Thank you." I breathed.
"No problem! Let me untie you!"
He untied my hands and I messaged my wrists.
"How are you feeling now?" He asked stepping back.
I nodded. "I'm fine, thank you!"
He nodded back."I'm Ethan!" He held his hand out.
"Oh, hello! I'm America!"
We shook hands.
"Nice name!"
"Thank you!"
Ethan turned his head behind him. As if he were looking for something.
"I'll be back!" He informed.
He disappeared into the sea of people.
I stretched my arms. That was nice of him. Is he just going around, helping people out? I would do that to but I didn't want to move too much. My foot was in so much pain.
Another horn went off and I was able to cover my ears this time.
I was still crying as one of the larger ships came up to one of the docks.
I was becoming more scared. Maybe I should have followed Ethan.
Tasitalen soldiers began ordering people to board the ships.
