Lindsey followed the sounds of Stevie's sobs.
When he entered the dining room, he saw Stevie getting up from the floor, a small amount of blood trickling down her inner thighs.
Stevie stood up and pulled her tights up and leaned on the table as more tears ran down her cheeks."Stevie?" Lindsey said tentatively, his eyes wide.
She stiffened as she heard Lindsey's voice.
Lindsey stepped closer; "Stephanie?"
She turned around and lunged into his arms, her whole body shaking from her sobs, and cried into his chest.
"Stevie, who did this to you?" Lindsey asked his voice filled with anger.
Stevie just shook her head, by this point she was hyperventilating. "I...can't...breathe!"
Lindsey pulled her away from him to give her some air.
"I...I..." was all Stevie was able to say before fainting; Lindsey catching her before she hit the ground.
"Stevie!" Lindsey yelled.Lindsey layed her down gently and ran to grab the phone to call an ambulance.
After placing the call he ran out to let Kristen know what happened.
"Kristen, I need you to take the kids home. I'm going with Stevie to the hospital. I'll call you as soon as I know she's okay."
Kristen got out of the passenger seat and walked around to get into the driver's seat.
Lindsey leaned down to kiss Kristen and ran back into the house.Lindsey held Stevie's hand and tried to wake her up. She stirred occasionally but didn't fully regain consciousness.
He looked up as he heard the timer go off for the oven and left her side to turn it off and the oven.Once the paramedics got there, they began treating Stevie.
Lindsey explained what he saw and what he thinks happened.
He rode with Stevie in the ambulance; Stevie woke up before they got to the hospital.
Silent tears rolled down her face. She thought it had been a dream...no, a nightmare. But no, it was real, it happened.
The paramedics asked her questions but she answered none as she was still unable to speak.Lindsey held her hand. "I'm here Angel. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." He said trying to comfort her in anyway he could.
Stevie squeezed his hand tighter.Once they entered the hospital, Stevie was taken to a private room. Lindsey had no choice but to stay outside. So he called Karen to let her know what happened.
Karen quickly making her way to the hospital.A nurse explained to Stevie what had to be done. They would have to do a rape kit and call the police special victims unit.
Stevie didn't want to do it, she just wanted to go home and sleep. But Stevie gave in and allowed the nurses to do what needed to be done. After taking photos of her cut lip and bruises that had appeared on her body and after performing the rape kit, they finally were able to take care of her. The cut on her lip wasn't deep so she didn't need stitches.
Once the special victims unit came into her room that's when Stevie told them everything that happened except for the name of her attacker. She was scared of what would happen if she revealed his name."Can...I go home now?" Stevie whispered.
The doctor that was attending Stevie released her from the hospital.Stevie walked into the hallway and quickly spotted Karen and Lindsey. Karen saw her and walked over to her.
"Take me home please." Stevie said her eyes swimming with tears.
Karen led the way to her car, Stevie and Lindsey following behind.
Stevie kept her eyes ahead; she couldn't look at Lindsey who was doing his best to get her attention. It was a quiet ride home; Stevie just stared out the window.
Karen pulled up to Lindsey's home to drop him off.
He opened the back door and said. "I'll come by your house tomorrow to check on you Stevie."
Stevie just nodded.
Lindsey sighed softly; he didn't want to leave her alone, he wanted to comfort her and tell her everything would be alright. Karen had promised him that she would look after her and make sure she was okay.
He got out of the car and made his way to his front door.
