Exhaustion finally hit Stevie; her eyes began to close.
"Get some sleep angel. I'll watch our girl." Lindsey whispered.
Stevie smiled at him sleepily and nodded her head.

Before Stevie could fall asleep, there was a knock on the door.
Lindsey called out softly. "Come in."
Barbara and Jess walked in.
"We sent everyone home and told them to come back tomorrow. We just came to say goodbye and we'll be back first thing tomorrow morning." Barbara said then noticed Lindsey holding the baby.
"Oh my!" She exclaimed and walked up to him and saw her granddaughter for the first time. Jess closely followed behind.
Barbara looked at Stevie. "Oh Teedee, she's precious!"
Even though Stevie wanted to sleep, she forced herself to stay up to see this moment; her parents meeting their granddaughter for the first time.
Lindsey placed Melody in Barbara's arms.

Barbara began to talk to her softly.
Jess stepped closer; he smiled from ear to ear.
"Have you named her?" Barbara asked Stevie stepping closer to her.
"Yes. Her name is Melody...Melody Robin...Nicks Buckingham." Stevie said with exhaustion in her voice.
Barbara and Jess looked at Stevie then at Lindsey.
They were speechless; then their smiles returned.

Jess felt so grateful to Lindsey that he would step up and be a father to a child that wasn't biologically his.
"That's a beautiful name Teedee." Barbara said then said turned to Lindsey. "Congratulations Lindsey."
Lindsey smiled at her and said. "Thank you."
Jess stepped closer to Lindsey and gave him a hug. "Thank you Lindsey. Thank you for being here for my daughter and granddaughter. You're a great man."

A moment later Barbara said. "Well Teedee, we'll be going so you can get some sleep." She handed the baby back to Lindsey and turned around to face Stevie. "Teedee?"
They all turned to find Stevie fast asleep with a smile on her face.

Barbara and Jess went up to her and gave her a kiss on her forehead then said to Lindsey. "We'll go now, I know our daughter and granddaughter are in good hands."

When Stevie told everyone the baby's name, everyone at first were surprised but then it turned into understanding, especially for the few that knew the truth.
Everyone's respect for Lindsey increased for what he was doing for Stevie and her daughter.

In the month that followed Melody's birth, Stevie stayed with her parents until Melody was a month old.

While still living with her parents, Barbara helped Stevie adjust to being a new mother.
Stevie was of course was a natural; her motherly instincts took over once Melody was born but Stevie was grateful for the help nonetheless.

Jess spent as much time as he could with his granddaughter.
Stevie would have tears in her eyes watching her father bond with her daughter.
She take pictures of her father talking to her daughter or there was one that Stevie loved; it was Jess fast asleep on his recliner with Melody snuggled on his chest as she too slept.

Lindsey would come visit every weekend. Sometimes the kids would come with him and others they would stay with his mother.
They loved spending time with Stevie and their new sibling.
Although Lindsey had yet to tell them, they adjusted well and he didn't have to tell them. Will and Lily were already saying how much they loved their new baby sister.
Stella was jealous at first but had warmed up to Melody.

While Lindsey would visit, he would help Stevie with Melody.
The only thing he would allow Stevie to do was feed her as she was breastfeeding.

Before she knew it, it was time for Stevie and Melody to go back home to L.A.
Stevie cried as she said goodbye to her parents.
Stevie told them she would visit as soon as she could.

Once settled at home, Lindsey would go over to Stevie's house everyday.
They still weren't living together for they agreed to take things slow and let the kids get adjusted.
