i've been staring at my screen for minutes now.

mentally asking myself if i could call you yet.

i wanted to hear your voice.

i wanted you to make me smile even if it was forced.

i wanted you to fall asleep on call so i could watch how peaceful you looked until i did the same.

a notification made me look at my phone.

you just posted a photo.

i couldn't hold back the tear from racing down my cheek.

you were with her;

that was fine.

but who do you think you are taking her there?

that little area that perfectly showed the sky from the tree lines.

it was our special spot.

why would you take her somewhere i showed you?

a place that was a secret that i only shared with you,

that place meant so much to me,

the way the stars shined and the way the beautiful celestial sky lit up the dark forest- i loved it,

because it reminded me of you.
