Prompt: Phil is a high school football star, and Dan is the lonely boy in the back of the class who wears bright clothing and weird hair accessories. No one knows the two are dating, let only that Phil is even bi. Until, Phil's ex girlfriend notices Dan going to a lot of his football games and seeing them meeting secretly.

Dan layed back in his chair in the cafeteria, watching as the football team crowded around Phil. They were probably discussing last night's game, as it had been another victory and of course, Phil being a star player had scored the winning goal. Dan smiled at him, trying to hide his face in his book, but keep his eyes above. "You sure keep looking at Lester weird, Danny." The voice of Dan's best friend, Chris, made Dan jump and drop his cover. "Jesus Christ, Chris! You scared me!" Dan said, clutching his chest. Chris chuckled, setting his tray down. "So, do you want to tell me why you keep making love eyes at Lester?" Chris said, raising an eyebrow. Dan blushed, but acted oblivious. "I have no idea what you are talking about, sir." Dan hummed, picking his book back up. It just so happened to be his favorite, Perks Of Being A Wallflower. "Hmm, we'll see about that." Chris said, picking up the greasy pizza that made Dan cringe.

Later on, in Math class, Phil passed Dan a note. He did it as he got up so no one could see, and made sure it was smooth so the teacher wouldn't take it, playing it off as though he had to sharpen his pencil.

You going to the game tomorrow night babe? Xx

Dan looked over at Phil, giving him a small nod. Phil smiled to himself and copied his notes.

After class, Phil grabbed Dan's wrist, pulling him under an abandoned stairwell. "Phil! What if someone had seen." Dan whispered. Phil shrugged, pecking his boyfriend on the lips. Dan smiled. "Did you want to come over a little later?" Phil whispered, just in case anyone was listening. Dan nodded, giving Phil another quick peck on the lips. "I've got to get to class. If I'm late again Mrs. Wilde will kill me!" Dan whispered. "Ok." With one last kiss, Dan left the stairwell. Phil waited a minute and then followed, just so no one would get suspicious.

If only they knew someone was watching.

At the game the next night, Dan and Chris went to go find seats, pushing through the crowd of students just standing around. "Tell me again why we're at a football game?" Chris said, sitting down next to Dan. "I just wanted to watch. Is that a crime?" Dan asked. "You mean watch Lester." Chris joked, and Dan blushed. "Shut up. We all know the reason you came with me is because Pj is on the team, too." Dan retorted. "Duh. Have you seen Pj's ass in those football shorts? Damn son." Chris gasped, clutching his heart dramatically, making Dan roll his eyes and look toward the game.

On the other hand, Phil's ex girlfriend, Zoë, and her best friend Louise were walking up the bleachers when they noticed the pair. "Since when does Howell and Kendall come to games?" Zoë stated, looking out toward the field to where Dan was looking- straight at Phil. "Oh, I see." She muttered. Then, she looked at Louise evilly. Walking up the the two, she smiled. "Hi, Dan! Long time, yeah?" She batted her eyes. "What do you want, Zoella?" Dan sighed. "Well, I can see that you're making eyes at my boyfriend. So I just came to tell you," she started, dropping the smile off her face and getting close to Dan's, "if you so much as speak to him, I'll fucking end you. Got me, Howell?" Zoe said. She waved, walking away.

"What the bloody hell was that about?" Chris said, looking over at Dan. Dan, who had his fists clinched so tight together in fury that they were turning white, remarked, "Don't know, don't care." And turned his attention back to the game.

After the game, Phil met Dan in there secret place. It was a spot under a tree in the school yard no one knew about but the two. As they held hands, they walked toward the tree and talked. "Zoë talked to me tonight." Dan said. "Oh god. What the hell did she want?" Phil groaned. It had been a rough time. She'd cheated on Phil with another football player, and then when Phil broke up with her she begged for forgiveness. Phil had already had a crush on someone else anyways. *Hint, hint.*

"Well, she said something along the lines of "stop making eyes at my boyfriend" and "if you even talk to him I'll end you". You know, the normal." Dan laughed, Phil smiled. "Psycho bitch." Phil chuckled. "Anyways, let's talk about us." They sat against the tree, Phil pulling Dan on his lap. "What about us?" Dan smiled goofily. Phil leaned down, pecking Dan's lips several times, causing Dan to giggle. "I love you." Phil said, leaning his head against Dan's. "I love you, too." Dan whispered, enclosing their lips again.

In the shadows of the dark, someone threw their hand over their mouth in surprise and hurriedly grabbed their cellphone, texting everyone.

When Dan walked into school the next morning, the whispers were everywhere. He received glares of hate from everyone. He nearly screamed when he was pulled under the stairs but sighed in relief when it was Phil.

Phil had worry written all over his face. "Phil, are you ok?" Dan whispered. "They know, Dan. Everyone knows." Phil whimpered. "W-What? How..I..How did they find out?" Dan sputtered. "I don't know..but everyone's coming up to me and asking about you and I don't know what to say!" Phil was starting to have a panic attack. "Phil, baby, please calm down." Dan cooed, taking Phil's face in his. Phil closed his eyes, and focused on his breathing.

It was quiet for a little bit before Dan spoke up. "I guess you'll want to break up with me, right? I mean, in every book and movie where the nerd and the jock see secretly date and then everyone finds out they have to break up, so-" Phil automatically cut him off. "No. Absolutely not. I love you." Phil said, kissing Dan. Dan could feel the tears rise. "Really? You'd risk your reputation for me?" Dan whispered. "I'd risk everything for you."

After awhile, the two came out from the stairs, fingers intertwined. Gasps came from everyone, and some smirks. But none were of hate. Some people aww'd, some smiled. Phil smiled at Dan, squeezing his hand, as they walked into the cafeteria together.

Because they loved each other. And that's what really mattered.
