Drew POV
"Sire, you have called for my presence, I presumed there is something you need? A papers perhaps?'
My ever loyal assistant, seriously and curiously is infront of me. Who owe me a lot because I take him out of the orphanage, groom him, educate him, give him shelter, food and offer him to be my personal assistant. Of course I gave him a choice but he said he wanted to repay me even if I never actually ask anything in return. Well I'm glad when he accepted my offer so I guess he is the best candidate for asking what bothers me.
"Mayday, do you think she will take it? You know, Amanda. Do you think she will sign it?" I said uncomfortable. Of course! Why am I even bothered. I never been unconfident all my life. As if I was not making deals all my live! What has gotten into me? I got up from my chair and walk at the nearby big window beside me looking at the tree which it begun to grow it's leaves again for winter is gone and spring is fast approaching. I stand proudly at the beautiful sight for I planted that tree when I was young. My father used to tell me before that I am a gifted child for everything I hold will surely grow. I wonder if having her for my personal needs will give me luck. Hah! I'm only having her for my future heir of my empire. I never wanted a wife, it's not that I was broken by a woman before, heck no way. It's not that I hate my mother, I love my Mom, she was a mother everyone may adore. But as a saying goes: A success of a Man is through a Woman But a downfall of a Man is also to a Woman. My Mother is so materialistic maybe it's my father's fault also for he covers his suppose to be duty to my mother with all material things because of his many appointment.Well my father is greedy of power, fame and money and sad to say I was just like him. Oppzz don't get me wrong there also! I'm not gay! I love woman as long as their is no commitment and so most of my fling to be honest is that they understand that.
"So Mr. Woods do you think She'll take it?" I asked once more.
"Well, thinking about it even if we do not have a similar offer but we are both offered a deal unlike with her this is only the best and once in a lifetime offer" said my assistant smiling enthusiastically.
"Are you saying you have best future ahead of you rather than staying with me as my personal assistant?" I asked testing him while looking at him intently.
"Sire, thats not what I mean. To tell you the truth now that you open the topic. I have actually an offer to be an executive writer in one of the publishing house in New York but the witty I am decided to be with you because I realized I can do my Stories while working with you and promote it very well because as I said I have you. Your very influential, you know that Sire" he said sheepishly.
This man never bore to amaze me. I was actually one of his critics aside from my friend who owns a Publishing House. He actually finish Historian in College. And his quite doing well because he is now a lil bit famous but he wants to be unknown. I and my friend was planning to promote his 2 books in the US too without him knowing. It is our surprise birthday gift for him. We have grown fond of this man for he stay humble and kind. I want him to call me big brother but he once said that its not proper for he is merely one of my staff. However, I command all my house staff and my Office to treat him the way they treat me. He was like a lil' brother I never had.
"Dont you think I'm too old for her?" I continue.
"Nonsense Sire! I don't even think that will be a problem not to sign the Bloody Contract. Your thinking so much Big Brother" he said.
You see that is what I like about him, hesitant at first but in the end he always care. I love testing him, his loyalty towards me and most of the time he impress me.
"Oh well, I hope you won't turn out to be like me. Always on a deal just to get what I want. Go on now, go back to the library and continue your writing" I said as I sigh.
"Don't worry, She will surely sign it Sire" I heard him said as the door closes behind me.
