_________________________________A while had passed until Maggie had eventually managed to find Lori after she saved Andrea from her close call of being attacked by a walker.
After explaining that April had been shot and that she was Axels sister, the girl swiftly turned the other way with Lori in tow.
The mother didn't know what to think when she learnt the news about her own daughter being shot. Was she okay? Was Carl okay? Thoughts and questions had swarmed through her mind on the ride to the farm but they were finally answered when she had saw Rick waiting for her on the porch of the Greene's family home.
Lori jumped down from the horse and enveloped into Ricks arms before he led her to where April was currently laying.
Lori was taken back by the sight she saw before her. Her own daughter was indeed lying on the bed with her top ridden up to reveal the nasty bullet wound inflicted on her stomach. The woman slowly slid down and brought the girl into a careful hug before she let the tears escape from her eyes.
"My baby girl. It's okay. Mama's here. Mama's here. You're gonna be okay. We're gonna make you okay." Lori sobs out against April's chest whilst she grabs Ricks hand from behind her for comfort.
Lori finally lets go of her daughter when Rick needed to give April the next transfusion. Which, again made him dizzy when Lori helped him walk out the room.
After checking up on Carl who they found in Axels bed fast asleep, they went to find Hershel who told them about the procedure that he was intending to do.
Meanwhile, Axel had managed to find himself making his way up towards the house. He had finally found the courage to face April again. It was not like he didn't want to. But he was just scared to.
He was scared to come back to either good news or bad news.
Axel opens the door to where April was staying and made his eyes wander to the girl who was sleeping soundly on the bed. His heart constricted slightly when he noticed that she was still breathing.
Slowly making his way forwards, Axel went over to the chair next to the bed to sit on. He grabbed onto one of the girls hand and held it gently against his own.
It was only then when Axel finally took in the girls features again. Her hair was sticking all over the place against the pillow, her lips were parted slightly and would sometimes contour into a grimace. A grimace in which Axel knew that the girl was in pain.
Axel didn't want to trail his eyes further down to see the bullet wound. He thought that if he did, he would probably collapse again.
He brought April's hand closer to him, carefully however, and placed a small kiss on her knuckles. A few tears escaping his eyes when he did.
