The next day, April was already up and about helping the group with minor jobs. Hershel had told the girl that she was fit to walk much more now, so with that in mind, April was up early in the morning doing the most she could do.
Currently, both April and Axel were sitting on the ground outside, having a break from fixing an engine to an old car.
Axel was helping the girl study in between breaks from the many medical books Hershel had given her. At first, Axel wasn't too keen to let April read to much as he didn't want the girl to overwork herself to the point of stress.
But after seeing her smile whenever she got an answer right to a trivia question or finally learnt the many paragraphs she had read off by heart, Axel knew how much this meant to her. He knew how much she wanted to help people. Even if she was physically hurt herself, he knew that April wouldn't let that stop her from helping the people she cared and loved for.
"Come on! Please tell me I got it right?." April asked Axel who was quizzing her on how to treat a wound infection.
Axel looks up to the girl with a smirk on his face, the book in his hand whilst he gives the girl a conflicted look. "Well...." he draws out.
"Axel come on. Did I get it right or not?" April pleads to him, desperately wanting to hear the answer.
After deciding that he would stop teasing the girl, Axel finally caves in. "Yes."
April squeals in delight before clapping her hands in happiness, Axel staring across from her with his own smile now formed onto his face.
He would never get tired of seeing her happy.
"Hey April, Sage is looking for you." A voice interrupts the girls excitement. April looks up to see that it was Beths boyfriend, Jimmy, that had called out to her.
Smiling at Jimmy, she gives him a quick thanks. April and the boy had already shared a few encounters during her short time at the farm. And what she could tell was that he was a lovely boy that was a perfect match for Beth.
April couldn't help but smile every time she saw the couple hug or be cute together. She had found it absolutely adorable and wished that she would find someone who would give her the same happiness like they did with each other.
However, one person that didn't like the couple was of course Axel, who had on many occasions, shown his disgust to them.
