Chapter 14

Hide's POV

I tried to sit patiently waiting for an answer from this man. Deciding to ask once again I said, "Kaneki..? Is he really dead?"

"You want proof do you?" He responded in a calm deep voice.

He was willing to give me proof, does that mean he's actually dead?

And then I heard laughter, loud, loud ear piercing laughter. My ear drums felt as if they might explode.

Still laughing the man managed to let out a few words, " I'm kidding boy I don't work for these stupid people, I'm a ghoul myself, we're going to save Kaneki."

I was confused there was no reason for this man to be helping us.. A trap maybe?
"Why?" I asked.
"Hm?"

I started to shake of confusion, excitmemt, I wasn't sure.
"W-Why!? Why would you help me? K-Kaneki I actually get to see him!?"

My breathing was uneven and I nervously licked my tounge over my teeth. I was jittery and shakey and the man just chuckled.

"I'd like to form an alliance with you and Kaneki, afterall you two are one eyed ghouls and are extremely powerful."

I danced my feet back and forth, still laying down and tied up but forgetting that for now. The excitement was just too much.

"You two must have a strong relationship, hm?"

All I could let out was a small squeak.
"Okay fine, u-uh about your deal or whatever, I DON'T CARE!! As long as I get to see Kaneki and have him back safe in my arms. But um.. first what's your name and why did you have to keep me in chains and blindfold me?" I was still suspicious but I began to trust the man a bit, however still on my guard.

"Alright well first off, I had to pretend I was working with the people testing you, so that meant proving to them that I had taken you and tied you up. I proved that by video call up until right before I started laughing, that was when I hung up. Scaring you was just a bonus."

Even blindfolded I knew he was smirking I could practically hear it in his voice.

"How do I trust you? A-and where are we!? AND YOU NEVER ANSWERED MY QUESTION ABOUT YOUR NAME!!" I talked really fast making it obvious how nervous I was. So much for keeping my cool, lost that ages ago.

"Calm down kid you can trust me its alright, but I can't tell you my name, sorry." I looked deeply into his eyes, or at least stared intensly with a blind fold on, where it seemed his eyes should be, and sighed.

This man seemed old if you ask me and untrustworthy, but at the same time his voice was odly familiar. Couldn't put my finger on it though.

I felt hands on the back of head as the blindfold began to be undone.
I had to give my eyes a moment to adjust and after blinking several times and squinting, I realized I had seen this man before...

Very short I know I'm sorry. I try to spread out my chapters more, waiting for the previous one to get a certain amount of reads before I update it, but I realized I don't care and it doesn't matter much.
Next chapter is very long and I need to fix it up a lot so I'm not sure when it will be out. Anyyways thanks soooo much for 4k reads, It really means a lot that people take time out of their day to read this. :)
