Chapter 5

Kaneki's POV

We got to the ice skating rink and for a Saturday it was quite empty. I payed for us even though Hide insisted on paying.

I sat on the bench and put on my ice skates and Hide sat next to me trying to put on his. I laughed as he struggled to get them on.

"It's not that funny, is it?" He mumbled frustrated. I chuckled again before saying, "How about I do this for you." I took the ice skate in my hand and untied it and slipped it on his foot.

"I'm not Cinderella," Hide said.
"I'm never said you were?" I questioned as a was confused.
"That's what the prince did to Cinderella, he put on her glass slipper," Hide mumbled.

"Does my little Hide like princess movies," I said teasingly.
He face went slightly pink and he punched my softly in the shoulder.
"Is that all you got," I said jokingly.
"I can give you this instead," He said before leaning in and kissing me.

It was short and sweet like the one from this morning but we were in public and it left me with red cheeks.
I put on his other ice skate and helped him up.

I helped him walk to the nearest opening in the wall around the ice. He didn't seem very well at walking in ice skates and as soon as he got on the ice I realized he wasn't good with ice skates at all.

He was slipping and wobbling trying to just keep his balance.
"Have you ever been ice skating before?"
"...no," he muttered.
I giggled and said, "ok I will help you."
His face lit up in a smile. God I loved that smile.

I gave my hand to him and he gladly took it.
"Copy my actions," I said looking into his eyes.

I took my left leg pushing against the ice and he did the same. Then I used right leg to guide my body forward and Hide struggled to do so but eventually did the same.

"Ok now keep doing that over and over," I said calmly.
"But what about the turns."
"On the turns, just lean to the sides and with your right leg push against the ice making your body turn, does that make sense?"

"Uhhhh yeah sure." I giggled softly and I felt Hide's grip on my hand get tighter as the turn came up.
"Are you ready." He stayed slient.

I have no idea what he did exactly, all I know is he messed something up. Instead of turning his legs went in opposite directions and he fell backward not letting go of my hand and taking me along with him.
"Haha oops." We both busted out in laughter.

"I'm crying," I said between loud laughs as we both still lay sprawled on the ice. After we finished dying of laughter I got up and helped him up asking, "Is your shoulder ok?"
"Yeah it's fine, I fell on the other side," he replied.

"Ok let's try this again." I locked my hand within his and we started to skate again. Again just like before I felt his grip get tighter around the turn although, this time I had to go very slow and Hide was shaky, but we did make it through the turn.

"Yessss I made it!" I giggled and looked at Hide tilting my head slightly up to look into his eyes. They seemed to glow with happiness.

Eventually we got faster and Hide could skate by himelself while I showed him tricks that I could do.
"You know Kaneki when you do those cool tricks and spin in circles like that you look really girly," Hide mentioned.

My face when red, "boys ice skate too, I used to a lot when I was younger," I said as I looked down.

"Haha I'm just messing with you, don't take it so seriously, but I kinda want to eat, how about a break."
"Fine with me," I replied.

We exited the rink and went put on shoes temporarily so we could get food from the food court that was in the same building as the rink.

"Do you want Panda Express? I know you like it," I asked him.
"You know me so well," he said smiling as he grabbed my hand and put it in his.

"I'll buy," I said simply.
"Your not even eating, I can pay for myself."

"No I need to make it up to you, I feel bad for.... well you know."
"Eating my shoulder," he finished.
"Shhh don't say it too loud."
"Kaneki no one is listening to us."
"Whatever I'm still paying."

Story teller's POV

A pair of ghouls walked past two boys.
The taller of the two ghouls listened in on the conversation not even by purpose.
"No I need to make it up to you, I feel bad for.... well you know," the shorter one said.

"Eating my shoulder," the other finished.
"Shhh don't say it too loud."
"Kaneki no one is listening to us." The taller ghoul looked over at them.
"Did you hear that?" The taller asked.

"Hmm?" The other answered.
"The boy with the black hair we just walked past is Kaneki the ghoul that we were supposed to find and bring to Jason," the taller ghoul said with a devilish smile.

A/N
This was more of a filler chapter but it's about to get better just wait. Also I'd like to know how well I'm doing so construction criticism would be great. Also thanks so much for 53 reads already it means a lot.
