We're already five minutes late and I've yet to put on shoes, earnings, and perfume. I stand in front of the mirror and look at the girl in front of me. She wears the blue dress her rich grandparents got her and I can't even recognize her. This could have been me if my mom waited a few more years to get pregnant. I would have been rich with different friends and be in a different school. I would have never met anyone that I know now. So the girl in front of me, the gorgeous, elegant, girl in front of me is my worst nightmare. Because I can't imagine a life without all my friends. I sigh and turn around to see Allison wearing a sliver dress that goes well with her fair skin."Thanks for helping me put it on, I could never do it without being thirty minutes late to the party." I smiles.
She giggles. "Don't worry, you look very pretty."
"And you look gorgeous." I wink. I put on my black heels and the diamond earrings. We both spray on some perfume on each other and leave the room. It's been a day since Dylan told me about the accident. The sleep I got that night was amazing. The bed is like sleeping on heaven. All today I've been out with my mom throughout London buying a present for the bride. She's not even getting married today. I haven't seen Dylan at all and Cassandra and I haven't been on speaking terms which I'm completely okay with.
We go down the steps and we quickly run to the party room. I don't know if I should say ball because I don't think it is but this house seems like a freaking castle. We turn corners and finally get to two huge doors that make an arch shape. We open the the doors and music plays. Filthy rich people talk, laugh, sit down in the circular tables, and drink Champagne. The room is massive, and it takes my breath away.
I see my mom in the distance talking with people. She wears a very light pink dress that could even be white. There's a table in the back side with glasses of more champagne and wine. I see tea cookies and other desserts.
"Hey are you sure you'll be okay? You can hang out with me and my other friends." Allison smiles warmly putting a hand on my shoulder.
I give her a thankful smile back. "I'll be fine, go have fun."
She nods and walks away. I look around and head to the dessert table. What? Since Dylan and I are on good terms again, I'm starving. I get to the table and pick up a tea cookie.
My mouth waters and I take a small bite to try to look proper. Normally I would just jam it into my mouth but no can do here. I swallow and look up. My cookie almost drops when my eyes meet Dylan's. What. The. Fuck.
His hair looks nice like always. His features are sharper, almost a bit darker. His dark brown eyes are now a honey brown, and he looks dazzling in his suit. A velvet button up under his gray suit. He looks sexy, and fucking hot. Mouth watering for fucks sake!
He slowly walks towards me and I try to compose myself. He's your friend, it's just an outfit, it's not like you're getting butterflies because that would be crazy! Just calm the FRICK down.
"You look-"
"Like I'm trying too hard?" I smile. "You look hot." I try to sound normal.
"No, Lexi, you look amazing." He looks me up and down and the organs in my stomach start trying to strangle each other.
"Thanks." I squeak out. God damnit! At least my voice didn't shake. "But seriously, you look hot as hell." Act normal. Act normal. Act normal!!
He chuckles. "Ah always so open, aren't you."
"Yup." I smiles popping the p. "Well isn't this fun?" I ask looking around.
"Tsk, duh. I'm having a blast!" He answers sarcastically.
