!!!!ATTENTION!!! *CLEARS THROAT INELEGANTLY* One of the reason on why I've been such an asshole and not updating as much is because I've been working on other projects and this is one of the bigger ones. NOW EVERYONE PLEASE LISTEN UP!!!! THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MATTER!!!!
So we all know Mariana, one of Lexi's best friends, which is this soccer obsessed, horrible liar who still manages to get people to believe her, stupid, downright idiotic girl with a lot of secrets. She has some juicy stuff that you might want to join her in. If you are set on going to Heaven, than I suggest you don't read this new book. Anyway this is the first look at "Just friends" this is Mariana's story. And damn, it's a pretty 😏adventures😏one.

Sometimes I hate my friends. I hate them because it's like I'm not even there. Like I'm not apart of their group. I know Caleb and Mason feel the same but unlike me they don't really mind. Sometimes I wish I could just be more close with my best friends Lexi and Emma. If I can even call them my best friends.

"Whoa Mariana! What are you trying to do? Kill the net?" I hear someone shout as I angrily kick the ball into the goal. I grunt as I turn around to see Ariana with her big goofy smile she always has. It always seems like nothing bothers her. I raise a smile and shake my head.

"Just practicing kicking a ball at someone if they try to kidnap me." I come up with a horrible lie. I wish I was better at lying. I would blame my mom but I'm not actually related to her so I can't.

Yeah I'm adopted and thankfully it's with an amazing family. Yeah they all have blond or dirty blond hair and have a shit ton of money and with our different skin colors people can quickly tell I'm adopted but it's okay. I like my glowy tan skin. And I love my parents.

Ariana laughs, mistaking my lie for a joke. "Well I'm gonna go home. Want a drive?" She asks when she gets to me. I give her a genuine smile this time.

"Thanks but I think I'm gonna keep practicing, I'll see you Wednesday?"

"Yup, okay well have fun." She keeps smiling and walks away toward the parking lot. I nod and sigh looking back at the net. Guess I can walk today. My friends left school an hour ago unlike me who has soccer practice after school.

I look up to see the guys practicing on the other side of the field. They're sweaty and are all kind of hot. I shake my head and keep taking out my anger on all these soccer balls.

My group of friends are considered popular in our school. We are the types of people other people warn you about. We tend to get into a good amount of trouble and do a lot of things that could get us suspended or in jail. Also we're all kind of mean and cold. I've seen people be nice to me just because they're scared I'm going to ruin their lives. It's actually kind of funny, yeah we look mean on the outside. We often try to look very tough and we do a very good job of it but we all have our fair share of insecurities and we're just like everyone else. We would never intentionally want to be an asshole to people but if we have too, we will.

After half an our of the same thing I stop and walk over to the bleachers and grab my water bottle. I drink it while switching into my more comfortable shoes. I finish and set my water next to me. I wipe the sweat from my forehead and check my phone. The group chat between me and my friends are all unread from me. I don't always go on it because they just talk about stupid stuff.

"Not gonna help pick up the balls you angrily kicked around?" I look up to see Nathan drinking my water bottle.

"What the hell Nathan!" I stand up hitting his shoulder.

"Ow! Relax babe, I'm just drinking some water." He smirks.

I groan turning off my phone and picking up my gym bag. "First off, don't call me babe, second don't touch my water, and third, Stephanie can clean the mess I made."
