Protection, Zack Merrick, All Time Low

I normally don't do Authors Notes because I don't like seeing them in books I read when they're super long-- I just wanted to dedicate this chapter to Clicheinasong_ and also lost_in_alltimelow, because they're really great.

Alex

I'm so happy Lisa is having my baby. I can't get over it. Kimmy has been hardly talking and just reading, and I'm about ready to sit her down and talk to her about it, but it hurt her when she talks about Danny.

She's been sleeping in Zacks bunk with him, and I'm greatful that she hasn't had any nightmares. Lisa left yesterday, and it's six AM and we're about to get on a plane to Australia.

"Take her to breakfast at the airport, okay?" I whisper to Zack while she's in the other room. He nods, and I wonder what goes through his mind when he thinks of her.

Zack

"C'mon, I'm taking you to breakfast." I tell her as I drag her away after she set her bags down. They were full of books, so more than likely they were heavy. She smiles at me excitedly and I just want to kiss her again, but I don't know how Alex would feel.

We go to Starbucks, and age orders a small hot chocolate and a bagel, she tries to pay for it, but I won't let her, abs whisper into her ear to consider it a date. She doesn't react, but puts her hand down, and I order something too, passing for it and we go sit down at a table.

"Like a date huh?" She smiles.

"I'd like it to be, yeah."

"Zack Merrick what are you saying?"

"I like you, it was never nothing, I've liked you a while, I'm sorry it's probably too soon, I can wait."

"I know you won't hurt me. You're not Denny. I've been over him fir a while, Merrick. And if it's okay with Alex, I would love to date you. Maybe even be your girlfriend one day."

"I don't like public affection, but I'd kiss you if I could." I tell her, so I kiss her cheek. "Maybe on the plane, when no ones looking because they'll be asleep and you'll be reading your cute little book."

She blushes hard and I wink at her, "So no coffee huh?" I ask.

"I don't want to be jittery on the plane." She explains. "Coffee wakes me up, and I would rather sleep."

"I'd do anything as long as I'm by you." I grin.

Kimberly

I move into Zacks shoulder a few hours into the plane. Over eighteen more hours to go. I sigh and kiss Zacks sleeping shoulder. I see that Rian isn't in his seat beside Alex and I sit beside him for a minute, "Lex?" I ask.

"Yes?"

"I like Zack." I admit. "And I don't like keeping secrets from you."

"I know you do, and I know he likes you too. Go with it. Whatever happens happens. He won't hurt you, I trust him, and I trust you."

"I'm glad you understand Alex. I love you."

"I love you too, but it'd be different if it was wuth Jack, so don't think about it." He snickers.

I climb back over Zacks lap, and I look to see a sleeping Jack behind us with a smile on his face. I grab my book again and curl my head into Zacks lap as I read, and soon I feel Zack put his hand on my waist. I grin and continue reading.

I move after a couple hours, trying to get comfortable again, and Zack is awake, I lookat my phone and see it has been about eight hours, and I look up at him.

"Wanna watch Netflix?" I ask him. He shrugs and I grab my headphones, handing him one and putting one in my ear, but before I press play, I glance around and go to my notes.

Kim// I talked to Alex. He's just fine with us. He know we won't purposely hurt eachother.

Zack// When we land, after we get rest from being jet lagged, let's go on a real date, yeah?? I'm glad he is okay with it.

I nod up at him, and smile, "I really, really really like you, Zack." I admit in a whisper.

He brings his lips to mine and moulds them together, with a smile. "I really, really, really like you too." He says, pulling back, and then I grab his head since it was just a peck, and I take a real kiss from him.

His lips taste sweet, like one of those candies that you can't describe that you always want more of.

I pull back and press play, cuddling into him and rubbing his leg as we watched all of Fuller House.

When we landed, we went straight to a hotel, and damn, I thought Texas was hot? I was very mistaken. I grab my bags and hurry inside to the hotel to get out of the dry hot air.

After I check in and we get the rooms, I jump into one of the queen sized beds and immediately fall asleep. I feel an arm wrap around me and I'm out cold.

When I wake up, it's supposedly ten in the morning. I sigh getting up and showing as the guys are still asleep. When I get up, I wake them, not wanting to be late to have dinner with 5 Seconds Of Summer in Sydney this evening. I didn't even notice Alex was the one I slept by.

Zack pulls me into bed with him, making me giggle. "I missed you while you were sleeping." I tell him, joking.

"You're so lame."

"You like it." I chuckle and kiss him, glad no one else saw.

"I do." He admits, looking down at me with adoration.

"Now, c'mon, you guys better be ready by the time the bus get here in an hour."
