Detention (Joshaya)

•5• Telling Riley

Before you read, know that in this story, Cory's parents Amy and Allan never had a fourth kid. They never gave birth to Josh. So Josh's parents' story is gonna be different.

Maya then began to explain "No I'm not telling the truth. Listen, Yesterday, Josh and I snuck out of detention. And then he said he needed an excuse to stay away from his girlfriend, well now his ex girlfriend, and I lied about my head hurting. I needed to go to his place down the hall from yours. And then when I told him to practice, I was looking at his wall and he came behind me and started kissing the left side of my neck, and now I have a hickey. But don't worry, nothing too serious happened." Maya took in a breath from everything that she just said and then showed her hickey to Riley. "Wow. That's actually real. You never drew that on or anything." Maya nodded.

"I know you lied, but at least you had a cute boy reason. And he stood up for you, he punched someone just cause of a stupid little snarky joke." Maya over thought what Riley had just said, and then she blushed thinking about how Josh actually did all of that for her. Just then, Maya had gotten a text from Josh.

It was a response to what she asked him before.

Their Chat Convo:

J: Uh, yeah. Sure. When you gonna be here by?

M: Like 2 minutes. I'm at Riley's right now. Kk?

J: k

Maya than sat up. "Okay Riley. I'll be honest, Josh asked me over to his place again. I said yes. You cool with that?" She almost hesitated at first, then she was gonna say something but then she just nodded. "K bye Riles." Maya said walking out. Riley didn't say anything. She just kept smiling and nodding.

        Maya got to Josh's apartment and knocked on the Door. The door opened, and Josh stood behind it waiting for Maya to enter. They both went to his room. It was actually pretty quiet. "You wanna watch a movie? Cause my parents are like obsessed. They collect a lot." Maya smiled. "Sure." It was still awkward though.

        "So which one from these 5? Paul Blart: Mall Cop? High School Musical 3: Senior Year? Expelled? The Conjuring? Or Glee: The Concert Movie?" Josh said listing the movie options. "I LOVE GLEE!!!! But how about Expelled? I heard that one of the cutest guys ever is in it!" "Who?" Josh asked. "Cameron Dallas!!"  Maya replied. Josh playfully rolled his eyes.

They started watching it. And got to the part where Felix (Cameron Dallas' character) was shirtless. "Woo! *laughs* he is beyond cute." Maya said still laughing. "Alright I think that's enough of the movie." Josh said turning it off. Maya giggled which is odd cause she normally doesn't giggle.

        Later on, he told her he'd be done with whatever he was doing in a few minutes. He told her to wait in his room. She was looking around. She found this picture. It was him, his mom, his mom was holding a baby, and some man who's face Maya couldn't see cause that guy's face was coloured over (in black), scratched out, and had a X on it. It got Maya curious. She wanted to ask, but then thought of it in her perspective and how she doesn't like it when others ask about her dad so she never asked about his.

Josh came back with two plates that were covered with something on top covering it so she couldn't see them. "I present... My World Famous Grilled Cheese!" He said taking off the cover thing. "Grilled cheese?" Maya asked. "Yeah. But not some ordinary grilled cheese, my grilled cheese. Anyone I've ever given and fed my personally made grilled cheese for, they all say it's the best. Even I say it is. So try it." She tried it and instantly fell in love with it. The rest of the day was spent of them snuggling on the couch, while watching movies.
