Chapter 20

Hartley's POV I turned to see Austin's smirk. If it wasn't for the gun in his hand I would have slapped him. "Look babe," I gagged when he said babe, "you are now famous with if we 'date' would make me famous and you don't have your little boy Niall here to protect. So I'm your boyfriend now, you got me?"

I scoffed. "Really? What are you gonna do? Shoot me? News flash hurting me would result in the fact you won't become famous from me dating you!" I yelled. Instead of doing something to me, he did something unexpected, he pulled a badly beaten Niall to view. At the sight I wailed and ran towards Niall only to be pushed away.

"If you want Niall, here, to live you do what I say." Austin said satisfied with my reaction. I nodded agreeing to this sick man's terms. He released Niall throwing him towards me. I ran to Niall helping him up. I bent down offering him a hand. He took my hand and managed a weak smile. He leaned on my shoulder as he limped. He was about to walk another way when I said questioned him. "Why are you going that way?" I looked at him. "I was going to try to go to a hotel?" he said more like asking. "No you're coming with me. A hotel is a bad idea." I stated not wanting him to know I stilled liked him. he smiled "Thanks Hartley." we walked together, well more like hobbled.

Reaching the front door I unlocked it knowing my mom was gone in business again. I huffed a puff of air. I lead Niall to a room and placed him on the bed. I turned to walk away, feeling A hand grab my own. I turn to Niall. "wait Hartley." he calls to me. "I want to tell you why I cheated." he continued. I sat on the bed. "He told me to. I didn't want to. but he said he would hurt the boys. I couldn't let that happen. I'm so sorry." he breaks down and cried.

"Niall," I said to him, "I love you." I kissed him before leaving. realizing that may be the last.
