Jade was trapped.
The men leered at her, their tight skin pulled over wolffish teeth.
She tried to run, but she ran into someone.
Aric smiled down at her and she wrapped her arms around him tightly.
Searing pain flared in her back and she looked at Aric's monstrous face, fangs jutting out of his mouth.
She pulled away, running faster in the other direction.
The damp air clung to her like a mask, making it hard to breathe.
She screamed for help as the men chased after her, their howls piercing the air.
The walls pushed in on her, the cloudy faces of screaming people towering over her.
She pushed against the damp air, trying to run faster.
The howls sounded closer and she could feel their hungry breath.
She felt something drip onto her, she went to wipe it off and her hand came away red.
She screamed and more blood fell from the sky, painting the walls crimson.
She ran faster, hugging her herself tightly. She felt something wet on her chest.
Blood.
A gaping wound where her heart would be spewed blood like the sky above.
Jade stared at her bloody hands.
They came into view, their faces transformed into the gruesome visages of demons with snarling mouths and bloody horns out of their heads.
Their arms reaches out, tangling around Jade, like she was a fly caught in a bloody spider web.
She tried to pull away, but they grabbed her, their arms drowning her out.
She screamed, but the air was sucked from her lungs.
She tried to breath, gasping for life.
She saw someone coming towards her.
Her mother.
"MOM!" She screamed with her very being, struggling to get to her.
The arms clung to her tighter, suffocating her.
Their disgusting, decaying fingers dug into her skin, contaminating her.
Her mother smiled insanely, fangs jutting from her mouth. "You have failed."
"NO! NO! NO!"
Aric appeared next her, smiling, his eyes glinting. Blood was splattered against his cheek. His eyes blazed white, and Jade saw he had no pupils.
He held a blazing molten silver knife and swung. Right through Lena Baxter.
Jade screamed at him, but he didn't hear her.
Blood was covering his face and he grinned.
Jade screamed, and the arms squeezed her, tightly until she couldn't breathe.
The world spin out of control, a sickening mess of color.
Finally, the world went blank, dark, and very black.
