Drunken

After our movie finished, Damian and I decided to finish off our date with a nice stroll along the streets, holding hands and enjoying the night.  Apart from the busy city life in Gotham, it was a very nice night tonight.

Suddenly, their is a loud holler from across the street.  I turn and see four men sitting on the sidewalk across the street, surrounded by empty beer bottles.  Each of them holding a Heineken and looking equally drunk.

"Well, look at this pretty little thing boys!" says one of them.

His words are very slurred. "And what's a beauty like you doing out here on the streets?" he hollers to me.

I'm a bit annoyed, but I just ignore them. However, Damian's grip tightens around my hand.  "Come on, let's get away from these drunks Mar'i," he mutters.

We start to walk away, but the men keep calling to us.

"Aww, what's the matter pretty?  Is it your company there?  Your boyfriend?  You can always join us you know.  We'd appreciate you well."

All of the men start to guffaw at that last remark, while Damian's grip tightens even more.  Soon, he might as well cut off the circulation in my hand.

"Come on Mar'i," he growls angrily.  But his anger only makes the drunks harass us even more.

"Aww, don't be so mean to the little pretty.  I've never seen a girl who had such a fine ass and bust, that lucky slut."

That last remark makes Damian snap.  He starts to go over to them (probably to beat the crap out of them), but I hold him back.  Seeing me restraining Damian makes the men laugh even more.
Finally, we successfully get away from the drunks, and back to Damian's car.  I push him into the backseat and follow in, closing the car door.  Damian is glaring in anger, while I try to placate him.

"Hey, what happened there?" I ask soothingly, holding his arms.

"What happened," Damian snaps, "Was that those insufferable, drunk bastards called you a slut-"

"I know Dami, but you can't just go attacking civilians, even if they're drunk."

Damian takes a breath and calms down.  I just hold him there for a while.

"I know, you are right, but I cannot stand it when such imbeciles get away with their perverted insults on your dignity, especially my beloved's."  I just smile at Damian.

"Damian, it's sweet how you're protective, but I've heard worse insults about being an alien hybrid freak.  So don't worry so much over old drunks.  Their words mean nothing to me, and they shouldn't mean anything to you."

Damian makes a small smile, and we just kiss for a bit more.
