"Okay kids," Ryan said, walking into Medical after another week on lockdown. "If you can't wander around the ship, you can wander around on a planet." We perked up or shot up from our beds. Ryan chuckled and shook his head. "We are nearing a planet that you can go down onto. We should be there by tomorrow."
We cheered. Getting out of Medical and going onto a planet was enough to lift our spirits. Waiting around Medical for another day wouldn't kill us. We were happy to be able to explore.
The next day came and we were practically bouncing off the walls by the time Johnny came in for work.
He looked at us and smiled. "Excited much?" He asked playfully.
"Yeah!" Everyone shouted but me. I jumped off my bed and ran over and gave Johnny a hug.
He stumbled a little from the force of me jumping on him, but hugged me back tightly. He picked me up and spun me around once and put me back down. I pulled back and gave him a big smile, which he returned. He stared into my eyes and slowly leaned in, but Ryan came barging in.
"Hey!" He shouted. "Stay professional on the job John." He teased. Johnny pulled back completely and turned a deep shade of crimson. Ryan laughed. "Who's ready to go?" No one answered him, but went running for the door.
Johnny grabbed my hand. "Come on," he said. "We don't want to be left behind." I nodded and he pulled me out the door.
