Johnny was surprised, yet joyful when he found out we finally talked. He said he was getting tired of having to talk through me to find out how the others were doing.
After being in Medical for about two minutes, we were already bored. There wasn't much to do in Medical.
Johnny got called down to the Bridge after another five minutes. He was gone for a while. We still didn't know why we were needed back in Medical.
Johnny came back an hour and a half later. He was trying to keep his thoughts clear, but he was failing.
Dr. Forman hailed again, claiming to be hot on out trail. He still had plans to kill us. But something else was bothering him. No one knew how he was staying on our trail. They were sure they had lost him.
Johnny was trying to think of something, but came up with nothing. In his world, there was no way Dr. Forman could have followed us that well.
"Johnny?" I asked. "You won't let him get us, will you?"
"Of course not," he said gravely. "Why don't you all go get dinner in the Mess Hall."
Everyone nodded, hopped off their beds, and headed out the door.At the Mess Hall, Alexander asked me what had happened. Everyone leaned in closer, eager to know.
"Dr. Forman is on our trail still and they don't know how." I said reluctantly.
Claire gasped. She, like everyone else, was terrified of Dr. Forman.
"That's impossible, isn't it?" Nathanael asked. I shrugged my shoulders.
We ate in silence for a while, until Simon and Harriet came up and joined us.
"How are you all feeling?" Harriet asked solemnly. We all shrugged our shoulders. We didn't know what to feel at the moment.
Harriet and Simon gave us sad smiles. "You guys are strong. You'll make it through," Simon said to all of us, though he was looking at me directly when he said it.
After dinner, we all returned to Medical, ready to go to sleep. But when my head hit the pillow, my eyes stayed open. For how long I didn't know. I just couldn't fall asleep.
All I did know was that Ryan came to talk to Johnny.
"These kids are in danger," Ryan said.
"You don't think I know that," Johnny shot back. "Dr. Forman is on their trail and we don't know how."
"So we need to figure out how." Ryan ordered.
"Maybe Dr. Forman put a tracking device in them." Johnny suggested.
"Maybe. If they do though, it'll be your job to take it out."
"I know. But what if it's not? What if Dr. Forman is just really good at tracking?"
"Then we've got a problem."
Ryan then left, without another word. Johnny began thinking if maybe we did have tracking devices in us. But the only way to find out was to preform some test. He figured that wouldn't go over well with us. Either way, he'd save it for the morning.
Johnny left to go to his quarters, while I was up for another hour.
When sleep finally came, it wasn't peaceful.
