Our pack was a small one. Only four of us for miles. There are no other of our kind within hours away. But we were okay with that. The less, the better. Fewer conflicts, fewer territory struggles, fewer everthing.
I, being the Beta of the pack in Blue Springs, am to no surprise a loud and strong person; too brave for my own good, but that's okay, because everyone in my pack is like that.
Our Alpha, who is the oldest of us all, Seth Adams, is not what you would expect. He's more carefree then the rest of us, and isn't even the strongest out of all of us. He's pretty much only the Alpha because he's the oldest. But honestly, I can't say anything bad about him; he's been my friend since we were 6, along with everyone else in our tribe.
He's of regular build, blue eyed with dirty blonde hair. He's not that tall, maybe 5'8", give or take. He was the first of us to phase, also another reason he's the Alpha. His wolf form is a brownish wolf, shaggy haired most of the time, with viscious teeth, and grey eyes. He's really the only one who understands the reasons we tolerate the blood suckers the best.
And Jake Parker, an Omega, is well, different. He's the most aggressive and hot-headed. Say one thing sarcastic to him and he flips out on you. He's probably the biggest out of us, maybe 6'5". He has dark, almost black eyes that are shadowed by his black hair. His wolf form is exactly like his human form; short, black hair, coal eyes, and big. He's definatly the most dangerous when he phases.
The other Omega is Ian Johnson. He's calm and reserved, and not surprisingly he doesn't phase or hunt as much as us. When he found out he was a shape-shifter, he freaked. He didn't want this. He said it was a curse. He has long blonde hair and bright blue eyes that stand out on his pale skin. He's tall and thin, but still very strong. He, to no surprise, has yellowish fur and blue eyes when he phases.
And then there's me. I'm the second tallest, around 6'3". I'm also the second strongest, next to Jake, and originally was supposed to become Alpha, but let Seth instead because he was older. My hair is somewhat shaggy, and dark as night. My eyes are just as dark as my hair. I'm a native to Blue Springs; generations before me have lived here. Although, my name, Tyler Lowell, doesn't sound it. But what I do know is that werewolf blood has been in my family forever, because apparently my name means "Wolf." My wolf form is copper brown, and large yellow eyes. Everyone says I'm very aggressive, and I know it's true. My emotions always get the best of me.
But, even though we are all very different, we all have one thing in common that we all despise. It's the one thing that we wished we all had; someone to imprint on.
Imprinting on someone is supposed to be one of the best things in your life. We all say that we think we did, but none of us really have.
"Ty!" Seth calls me. "There's someone on our territory." he growls, running past me and into the forrest, turning into a large brown wolf as reaches the end of the clearing. The rest of our pack does the same, and a blonde wolf and black wolf both fly past me.
Running at full speed, I do the same, phasing into a large copper wolf with yellow eyes. I hear the rest of my pack, and join them by the river.
"Someone's here." Ian growls, his blonde ears bending to listen in for any noise.
"And they're not human. Do you hear their footsteps?" he mumbles, looking across the river.
"They're too slow to be a night walker." Seth points out, flashing his grey eyes scanning through the trees.
I howl, trying to scare them off, but suddenly, the crackling of branches and dried up leaves disturbs the usual stillness of the forest, and a large white wolf emerges from the trees, its bright green eyes standing out against its fur.
