A month has passed, still with no word whatsoever from Danni....
She could have been bitten for all we know.
"Tyler,"
"No," I snap at Ian. He sits down beside me anyway.
"She's not coming back," he whispers. I turn to look at him.
"She will," I say firmly.
"Bro, she's happy with th-"
"Let me guess, she's happy with Joey?"
"Tyler, listen to me," he says angrily. I can here the frustration in his voice. "You imprinted on her," I cringe at that word. "You don't love her. You haven't kissed her. You don't even like her!" he says, sounding exasperated.
“You don’t get it,” I sigh. “You never imprinted on someone. Once you do, you’ll realize. It’s like I have an unexplainable feeling to be with her. Whether or not it means I like her, I don’t know, but I do know that this sucks.”
“Ian, I got this,” says someone from behind us. We turn around and see Seth and Jake.
Ian nods to them and gets up with Jake. They go walking off outside, leaving just myself and Seth on the living room sofa.
I lean back against the couch; neither one of us is saying a word, just sitting there. I feel an uncomfortable, awkward silence, until Seth finally speaks up.
“You’re right, you know,” he says, not meeting my eyes. Finally, he turns to me. “About the whole, ‘We don’t know what it’s like to imprint’. Because we don’t….”
“Then stop asking me why I’m so down lately,” I snap.
He sighs, leaning forward. We again sit there in a silence, me staring motionless at the floor, and Seth trying to flip the hair from his eyes.
“Do you want me to go over there?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because I said so.”
“That’s not any way to get her to join us again, Tyler.”
“I don’t care.”
“Don’t you want her back?”
“No.”
“Then stop sulking and let’s go hunting.”
“You know what?” I ask angrily, standing up. “Can everyone just leave me alone?”
“You’re the Beta of this pack, Tyler. Start acting like it.”
He gets up and leaves me there. I hear him go outside and slam the door shut behind him, and I angrily punch the wall, leaving a fist-sized whole.
Frustrated at the fact that I am going to have to fix that, I run off towards town, deciding to blow off some steam.
In about a half an hour, I reach the main street of Blue Springs. It’s a busy town at this time, with over a hundred shops crammed into the small perimeter of this town.
There is a place for everything you need. Food, clothes, entertainment, a gym, a park, a beach not too far off, but my favorite place to go is the waterfall, all the way on the other side of town.
People greet me as I walk along, but I pay little to no attention to them, because I have to get away for a little.
“Tyler, where have you been?” someone asks me. I recognize it as my old next-door-neighbor, Allie.
