Running through the forest at top speed, crushing rocks and trigs beneath my giant paws, I head towards the nearest coven.

"Tyler! TYLER!" Seth's unusually serious voice screams.

I stop in an instant, waiting for him to catch up to me.

"What?" I growl.

"Be smart about this."

"You don't undestand.." I snarl. "And you never will."

"Tyler," he growled testily. "Remember who you're talking to."

"I'll fight you right now if that'll mean we'll get to Danni quicker," I snapped.

"You don't want to do this," he said warningly.

"Let's fight. Right here, right now," I say firmly to him. "I should be Alpha, anyways."

"Why? So Danni will finally choose you as her mate instead of Joey?"

I howled, tackling him in one swift motion. He rolled us over, so his body was towering over mine, and he bit me on the shoulder. I barked in pain, feeling my body slowly starting to shrink...

"WHAT THE HELL!" I screamed at him. His blue eyes gazed down at me.

"You attacked me," he says airily.

"You provoked me," I point out, ripping the sleeve  off my shirt to get a look at my shoulder.

Seth's large teeth marks covered the better part of half of my shoulder. I tore the fabric of my sleeves off, using the cloth to dab at the blood.

"It's my job to provoke you," he stated firmly. "Now, would you like to find Danni?"

I got up quickly, shaking off all of my anger towards Seth. He's right, as horrible as that may sound.

"We will be meeting up with Joey-:"

"No," I growled.

"He's strong, Tyler."

"We don't need him."

"I say we do."

Seth walks past me, bumping my injured shoulder along the way. I bite my tongue to prevent from making a sound; any sign of weakness is always bad, especially for being Beta.

I follow him reluctantly, making sure to keep my eyes open for any signs of vampires.

"When're we meeting up with Joey?" I groan.

"Now," says an amused voice behind us. I turn to see a sandy blonde haired person behind us.

"Hi, Joey," Seth says, trying to sound friendly. Joey looks at him.

"Hey, Seth. And hi... Tyler," he trails off, looking coldly at me. I scowl at him until he finally turns East.

"Danni never joined your pack, did she?" Joey asks, not looking at us.

"We thought she did..." Seth trails off.

"Speaking of that... Were you ever able to hear her thoughts?" he asks, kicking a rock and turning towards us.

"Whaddaya mean?" I ask.

"You're able to hear the thoughts of people in your pack... Just focus."

I look over at Seth, who is giving me the exact same puzzled look back.

"You're such a douche, Joey," Seth says. I laugh.

"He's right there, but I agree," I say, grinning.
