I wake up hours later, my body aching and my head pounding. I groan from the light shining through my window and roll over, but then I hear someone laugh.

I roll back over against my own will, and see Danni sitting in a chair next to my bed smiling brightly at me.

I quickly re-adjust to sit fully up and smile back.

"Hey, how you feeling?" she asks.

"I've been better." I laugh, shifting in my bed. She laughs too and rolls her eyes playfully.

"Hey guys! He's up!" she yells out the door, then looks back at me.

It is now that I notice her left wrist is wrapped in a thick ACE bandage and clipped at the end, but you can still see the marks of her dried blood coming through.

"Oh my God, I forgot," I say, grabbing her around her left forearm. "You were hurt by that...thing," I growl.

She sighs. "I'm alright Ty, honestly. Just a sprained wrist is all."

"And the blood?" I ask.

"No big deal. It-"

"Did it bite you?" I interrupt her. She takes a deep breath and shakes her head.

"He came close, but when he heard you he threw me off and ran," she says, sitting on the edge of my bed. "The blood is just from when he threw me off. I landed on some rocks and got cut up."

I sigh, relieved, as she yawns. "You gotta get some sleep," I say to her. She doesn't even protest, she just nods. "Here, I'll tell everyone to be quiet. You get some sleep," I say, pulling the sheets back. She, being too tired to talk, just nods and lays down. I pull my comforter over her and get up, carefully closing the door behind me.

I walk into our small living room, where everyone is crowded around the television, completely absorbed in their show.

"What's on?" I ask quietly, falling down onto the sofa.

"Pittsburg Penguins verse the New Jersey Devils," Ian says distantly.

"That's a slash!" Jake yells, standing up with his hands in the air. "That's a freaking slash! This ref is so-"

"Shut up!" I whisper, silencing him. I point towards my bedroom door and do the universal 'sleeping motion'. They nod and return their attention to the game.

Once the game ends, which is two periods later, we decide to go hunting. Seth leaves Danni a note, and 5 minutes later we're gone.

We decide to head north, towards Rocky Hills. We cross the river, barely making any conversation, until we reach a clearing in the forrest.

From the other end of the clearing, three other wolves, -black hair with blue eyes, blonde with green eyes, and gray with brown eyes (that looked very much like a Siberian Husky)- appears at the other end.

"You're on our territory," the black one growls.

"Sorry, we were just hunting," Seth calls back, trying to keep the peace.

"Hey, James, they smell like Danni," the blonde one snickers. They all join in on laughing along with them.

"I guess dear old Danni is with you guys now?" the black one, named James, asks. Seeing our confused expressions, he steps forward. "I'm James Amana, Alpha of the wolves of Rocky Hills," introduces himself, bowing his head down.

"So you're her old pack?" I ask.

"Yeah," he says, eyes focused on me. "Alpha?" he asks me.

"Beta," I reply back, the nod towards Seth. "He's Alpha."
